So we are at it again. Archy is heading out to sea in "The Unpredictable Journeys of Archibald Whim". It has been a while, but this is a beast to mix with 104 tracks and some weird stuff going down.

An effort to glue the chords together in a intelligent order and fashion. Much of the work has gone into mixing the 14 vocal tracks, and its an example of our struggle to get it to shine and blend into a pro mix. The lyrics is a light hearted message to my sons on their journey into the future. Pretentious? Yes, but then again, they´re my sons:)

A longer peace in three parts. Smile is inspired by, and a tribute to, my oldest son, who number of times brought me to my senses and showed me the benefit of looking at life with a more light hearted view. Two of them will be produced as singel tracks, but on the coming album I think it will be in a suite:)

"Beyond the Ridge of Time" is the story of our time, when quant physics discover that everything is here and now, we live in eleven dimensions and that our concept of time it self is hindering us from the true reality.  Still we have people that discard it as fantasies, and within our selfs we sometime hesitate looking into this new chaotic reality. Yes, its weird - but comforting in many ways.

Beyond the Ridge of Time  - The Suite

"Jericho"
A classic prog piece of that kind I tend to write. It was created after a couple of hours with the twelve string, and then developed as the lyrics came up. The myth of the walls of Jericho may be well known, but this time the lyrics turn it all in to the present situation we have in Europe. Your personal views may differ but I do hope you like the track - and please do not hesitate to tell me what you think. Relevant feedback is always welcome!

In confusion and pain after the tragic loss of a close soul mate I wrote down the words that came to mind. Later the chords seem to appear out of nowhere and I put it together. After a number of tough recording sessions a friend helped out with the mixing and I kind of laid it to rest.  It now seems that the song relates to people that have heard it, in different ways. So here it is. “Why?”

Is this for real? Is it Mr Trump and Adolf over there in the audience? Who are the people up there on the stage? Is it all in your head or a ironic global fantasy? Is the Donald for real?

Dark Waters

"Crime & Punishment" is one of these light hearted stories of love and violent death. Based around the twelve string guitars and the piano it started out as a spontaneous irony, and ended up in an rapidly growing arrangement with some 14 vocal channels. This of course led to a mixing bonanza and mental meltdown. It´s all in the ambition to write and produce tracks with higher degree of visual elements and cinematic storylines, a kind of style that I do favour at the moment. I hope that you like this first track of MOMA 2017, and every comment, tips and tricks is highly appreciated.

Crime & Punishment

After almost a year without any music due to severe tinnitus I finally did go into the studio. Now I take it step by step, so no drums yet. This piece "After the War" is a melancholy slow one written in the wake of that kind of every day drama that happens in a ordinary relation from time to time. Its the silence after a war, after a devastating confrontation where the consequences are yet to be seen. But it doesn't feel good, does it?
Many of the hours went into the lyrics, but doing the vocals also took some time. But then again, its good to be back:)

After the War

This very classic sounding classic piece is a classic start of a new classic progressive rock suite. "The Unpredictable Journeys of Archibald Whim" is to be a longer batch of bits and pieces describing this somewhat whimsical fellow on his trip around the globe some hundred years ago. This the first piece "Archibald Whim – Prelude" is a full length version of the very start and end of the journey. The next two tracks are in the making, and I do hope to get them all together during this spring. And as always, please do say what you feel, SC is a great place to be when the interaction works!

This is the second chapter in the suite "The Unpredictable Journeys of Archibald Whim". As the convincing swindler Archibald Whim fool the old geezers in the explorers society he is still driven by the prestige and the naive optimism. But as the steamer leaves old England for a destination far away in the cold Russia, he suddenly realise that this might be his final scam. And the snow falls over a dark harbour in a foreign town...

I Have Just Begun – Archibald Whim II

Yet another piece in "The unpredictable journeys of Archibald Whim". This time its a very short (you can thank me later) interlude in a classic style. Working with Spritfire Labs strings and piano with a little help from my friends – CSSS. The solo cello and viola gives it a more close feel and a somewhat more human touch. 
And yes, this is No.4, but where is then No.3? It is still in the making. The ludicrous disorder in witch the suite is produced is due to the lack of discipline within the writing team. In the end the parts will be put together in a orderly fashion. You have my word...

In The Midst – Archibald Whim Interlude

So he appears once again, this infamous Archibald Whim. Yet another track in the pretentious epic saga "The Unpredictable Journey of Archibald Whim. This time he surface on the vast plains of southern Russia walking in an endless caravan heading for Asia. He seem to have some opinion on the direction, as the weather and the endless trail is a torture. But hey, something is happening up front of the caravan...

We´reTurning South – Archibald Whim III

Is it thanks to the lack of oxygen on that high mountain? Or is it a fundamental insight hitting him as he finally reach the top? Climbing from the plains up on the ridges Archibald Whim suddenly is capable to see the truth - or is it?
The Unpredictable Journey of Archibald Whim has reach yet another stage, another intriguing part of the story of a lost soul. 
I do hope you like it, although it may be somewhat challenging. It sure was to me stumbling around among the channels and sounds in an endless mix.

So, in the suite "The Unpredictable Journeys of Archibald Whim" we now stumble into part five, where our friend meet the overwhelming impressions of MUMBAI. Leaving the mountains behind and entering the world of spices, animals and millions of people in the great maze they call Mombay he do find him self lost. Will he ever find a way out?

Heading for the coast he realises that the he soon will be all on his own. Gone are all the good companions that kept the spirits up while struggling to move forward. As he looks around the landscape he think he hears a Koto in the distans... "Gone One by One"

May he survive this dreadful journey over endless water thru storms and rain. So All Aboard! (or could this be a lightly hidden parable to the US of A in these pathetic times?)
