Began writing in the 80's but in the last year with a new turn in my life, began learning the art of songwriting full time.  These I call are my healing songs and are about  life/family and everyday stuff!!  I love my Savior,the Lord Jesus and this is my voice and praise.  Remember, I'm the songwriter who just sings my own demos , can play piano just enough to get around a little and want to share.  I will never be a big performing artist but wherever God takes me on this ride, I'm gonna' love t.  I live in Arkansas,  love my Cajun food (I was raised in Louisiana from the age of 5)and I'm Baptist and talk country :) The loves of my life are Charlie(married 40 years), a son, Michael, a daughter, Kristi and 5 beautiful grandchildren.

This is the original "Cry To The Shepherd" and a different version

"Inspired by a mom that "hummed" and a dad that "bellered when he sang", the love of music continues in my heart.  I was born in Arkansas and moved to Louisiana at the young age of 5 and after graduating from high school, returned to Arkansas where I met  the love of my life, Charlie now just over 45 years as of January 2019.  Both are still home to me! I love my Louisiana Roastbeef Poboys, LSU and the Arkansas Razorbacks!  Whoooooo Pig Sooieeeee!!---- and I talk country!!!!  I was raised up on The Speer Family, The Happy Goodmans, and Jubilee every Sunday morning ----my inspirations all my life.  I was saved at the age of 14 and teenage years came along and  I made some decisions that almost destroyed me.  Depression took hold and in 1985 my parents took me to see The Rex Nelon Singers.  Karen Peck was with them then and sang a song called "The Touch" and I stood up at that concert , in tears, and from then on there was new direction when I rededicated my life to the Lord and began playing the piano for a little church in town.  Then I weakened and Satan stepped in again and I departed from my church, my music, and singing . It was then that God brought me to my knees---ill and unable to work at my job--I was blessed to have a boss gracious enough to allow me to work from home and it was through that trial---I realized God needed me totally alone and undistracted for a period of almost a year.  It was then that I reached my lowest point in my life---began flooding my soul with K-LOVE radio and God's Word.   2012 began a new turn in life, songwriting about my Savior, Jesus Christ!! The songs and music started coming back to life and I pulled out songs that I had written back in the 80's and that is the beginning of what I finally feel is what I was being prepared to do.  Now----I am not a big performing artist; I love to sing in church and funerals, etc;   I am the songwriter who sings my own demos,(which are available for artist to cut if they like one.) I can play the piano good enough to get around (I only got to 3rd grade in piano), and am still in the learning process of the art, beginning with no teaching in the 80's and now attending seminars with the Gaither's and Write About Jesus since mid-2012 and recently the Reba Rambo-McGuire Writing Room in Nashville. The newest blessing as of late 2014 was beginning mentoring under Dove Award winning Mr.Joel Lindsey. Christmas season 2015 saw a most exciting turn when the only Christmas song I ever wrote was put into the Christmas lineup on Women Of Substance Radio.......and since then my local hometown radio began playing some of my gospel songs on Sunday mornings.......2016 brought about some new co-writng friends who are always so encouraging and who truly have become like family. In Oct 2016, Write About Jesus awarded 2nd Place in Grp 6 Southern Gospel for my song " Sometimes The Mountain Gets Too High" ; I truly look so forward to attending every year for the re inspiration every songwriter finds themselves needing from time to time! Also...5 cowritten songs are now with a publisher which was a very exciting news moment!   2017 began with a bang when I, along with 8 other writers, was invited to and attended Restart Retreat in Tennessee under the leadership of Joel Lindsey.....my hero mentor! The year didn't end well, as my mother suffered a massive stroke and really unsettled me for some time; I spend time most days checking on her and in-between, have now moved to Missouri, closer to the grand babies and resettling. Songwriting continues at a little slower pace but now, in 2018, I'm settling into my new role and as of August, 2018, attended the Midwest Women's Writing Retreat and got the privilege of writing with some that I consider "the best there is"!
