A four-track melodic jungle release from Black Barrel might not be what you expected, but he continues to impress and demonstrate his versatility again. His sound has continued to evolve and explore new musical grounds across his many releases for Dispatch. Just as you think you can identify his trademark elements, he switches things up in new and exciting ways.

This selection of tracks instinctively found their home on Dispatch Dubplate; a collection of mid-90s inspired tunes with an Omni Trio / Essence of Aura vibe, pure jungle deepness and added Black Barrel flair. Built with layers of classic era sounds each track reveals a new side to his production across four deep cuts.

True to the nature of the Dispatch Dubplate range, these tracks have already been circulating on dub for some time and have been getting a lot of love. Goldie is a huge fan of Black Barrel’s melodic jungle takes and tried to bag these 4 for Metalheadz at a later stage after road-testing them out at clubs and festivals.

For our next instalment of the Breach Invites series we have a returning favourite of ours Dewark! 

Back in 2020 we kicked off our soundcloud with mixes as that was the only way to showcase music through covid. We curated our first series called the Lockdown and Dewark was one of the artists who showed us love with mix 4/5.

So after 3 years it seems only right to get Mr Dewark back for Breach Invites. Expect a high calibre of quick mixing and thechy doubles for the next 30 mins. Be sure to stay up to date on socials as Dewark is BACK.

Wreckless returns to Dispatch Limited with another impressive EP. Five varied, tough tracks with serious bass lines and infectious, rolling grooves. Wreckless once again takes the listener on a journey through the soundscape of each track, covering heavier, dance-floor territory matched with his trademark atmospherics.

The title track ‘Mind, Body, Spirit’ is inspired by the Oscar Wilde quote “Everything in moderation, including moderation” which guided Wreckless’ production process. ‘Prayers for Leaders’ aims to remind us that wisdom and guidance are needed for everyone, even if we don’t agree on political views.

‘Lungs’ is a sonic experiment focusing on the breaths in between vocals, making these the focus. A reminder that the real groove is in the gaps between. On ‘Soho’ Wreckless endeavoured to keep his production as clean as possible; after hearing a friend’s tunes in a post-production studio in Soho and wanting to achieve the same results.

‘Assam’ is an exploration of the drones which feature heavily in Indian music, and takes notable inspiration from the Beatle’s output during their Revolver and Sgt. Pepper’s period. For the Dispatch exclusive track, Wreckless adds the Spirit to this EP, with a pattern inspired by the Ichthys symbol of his faith.

Skitzoid & Pluvio discuss the origins of the sound and the impact influential artists such as Afghan Headspin, Culprate & Vasteria X have had so far. Yoko just recently made her Odyzey Music debut with the release of “Serve It Like” on Odyzey’s latest compilation Muzique, Vol. 3. Now the talented artist puts her production abilities on full display via her 4-track EP, The Masquerade. The project kicks off with the lead single “The Day We Made The Earth Stand Still” on September 22, with the full project out on September 29. The captivating melodies and undeniable sound design are a highlight throughout the bass-laden project. 

Yoko, also known as Emi Veliz, strives to recreate the realms that exist in her own mind, and mold them into sonic experiences. Although originally from Tacoma, Washington, the esteemed producer has sculpted her sound from the influences of the Colorado underground scene. The focus of the Denver based Yoko project is to deliver heavy bass with inspiration from areas such as vintage sci-fi and classical cinema.
