EPM Podcast 148 comes from non-other than France’s greatest techno ambassador, Laurent Garnier. Garnier remains one of the world’s biggest champions of house and techno music. His enthusiasm and love for the scene has taken him the world over in his roles as a producer, radio show host and above all, globe-trotting headline DJ. His building DJ sets, full of invention and emotion are the stuff of legend and he remains at the peak of his artistic powers. After 4 years behind the scenes it was revealed this September that Cod3 QR was in fact the label he founded anonymously in 2018 with Scan X. The enigmatic label has presented artists' names first coded, then revealed later, featuring artists such as Agents Of Time, R.O.S.H., CYRK, Madben and Joe Farr. Whilst Scan X has left the project to concentrate on his own projects, Laurent now runs the label in conjunction with EPM and Oliver Way. Here he celebrates the label with an exclusive Cod3 QR mix featuring tracks from the mysterious label and some exclusive unreleased future gems. Once again it’s time to arouse your curiosity…!

Laurent Garnier has been making the planet dance for 30 years. One of the pioneering DJs of the dance music scene, he experienced first-hand the euphoria of the acid-house movement in Manchester. He then went on to Wake Up and shake up Paris nightlife, from La Luna to the Palace, not forgetting the Rex Club. As one of the leading lights in French dance music, he has spread his message across the planet, from raves to warehouse parties, clubs to festivals. He is a multi-faceted eclectic artist whose impact on the music scene is far-reaching. But above all he is a DJ, a true DJ. 

His latest releases have been on Kompakt, Rekids and Cod3 QR, the label he founded anonymously in 2018 with Scan X. During 4 years of mystery, the enigmatic label presented artists' names first coded, then revealed later. Unavoidable artists such as Agents Of Time or Joe Farr were then revealed. Finally on the 10th of September 2021, it was revealed that Laurent Garnier and Scan X were behind the French techno project from the beginning with the launch of the 10th release of the label. 

In the last few years, Laurent has composed tracks for the soundtrack of the film Paris est à nous (2019) as well as the soundtrack of the documentary Le Roi Batard (2020), which was awarded at the Jackson Wild Film Festival this year. He is currently composing the soundtrack for the film Entre la vie et la mort de Giordano Gederlini (release planned for 2022 – distributed by Le Pacte). 

Garnier’s musical journey has also been documented by the 2003 book Electrochoc (co-written with David Brun-Lambert) and the recent full-length film, ‘Off The Record’ (2021). After 30 years devoted to music, Laurent has been made Chévalier de la Légion d´Honneur in 2017.

Her music blends dark, industrial, and hypnotic techno elements with dynamic rhythms that transport listeners into a state of deep immersion. With a focus on crafting a distinctive sound. Mona Chrome continues to shape her unique identity within the techno scene.

Her debut track “Lymonade” released on Sincopat caught the attention of the world scene and was played by the legendary Solomun on his sets, a landmark moment in her career.

 The “Bipolar” EP was released on Ratis Records, reinforcing her position on the techno scene and establishing her as a producer with a signature sound.

 Her first YouTube mix reached 283K views, while the second gained 112K views, making her content viral and significantly expanding her audience.

In Dubai, she has performed at top venues such as Soho Garden, Cavo, LY-LA, Raspoutine, Secret Room, PLAYA, OSH, and was featured in Kinetika Music’s event series at Chanca by Coya.

In Moscow, she was a resident at renowned venues including Kvartira, Mix Afterparty, Atlas Club, BackRoom, and Different Moscow.

She has played strong warm-up sets for artists like Far&High, Goom Gum, HIGHLITE, Peredel, Dor Danino, Anorre and Anatolian Sessions.

Over the past four years, Mona Chrome’s musical journey has undergone many transformations. She explored different styles, experimented, and searched for her unique sound, but it was techno that became her true foundation. For her, it is more than just music—it is energy, freedom, and pure emotion, which she conveys through her sets and tracks.

Every performance, every release, every night behind the decks is a part of her journey, one she continues with complete dedication.
