Among the processes of building spaces of refuge and consciousness, ORÍ was born, establishing the debut of KONTRONATURA through MAMBAREC as his first EP released.
Orí is our head Orixá, our essence. It is what connects us with our individuality, with our unconscious in a powerful and absolute way. To know Orí is also to understand possibilities of existing beyond place or context, this displacement materializes in IKU (DEATH) and BIYI (BORN HERE), ending with BIYI's RHR Dub Remix sealing the release.
The album delivers rhythms marked by accelerations and restlessness mixed with guetto sounds. ORI EP is the demarcation of a transitional territoriality, a personal Quilombo manifested in frequency.

When Sophti steps to the booth and starts turning the tables, you‘ll receive a surprise package. Giving a damn about being a ‘one genre’-DJ, the 26 years old Karlsruhe-based artist is combining many different types of music. 

For SURVIVE, she picked out a few gems of her collection, kicking off with some mellow dreamy tunes, diving straight into dirty ghetto breaks inspired by Memphis rap & Miami bass, twisting it with playful grooves & bouncy house and finally finishing off with a little time travel to the trancy 90s. 

Don’t trust the name - Sophti can go hard on the floor if she wants - all depending on setting, mood & crowd energy.

The 26-year-old Karlsruhe artist describes her sound as a playful combination of breaks & ghetto bass for bouncing, groovy (hard)house with some trancy twists, infused with rhythms from Latin America like baile funk or reggaeton. 
In three words: melodic, moody, multi-dimensional. 

Sophti is always open to discover new hot stuff: "There are so many talented producers out here creating such unique and diverse sounds. And when it's my turn, I try to find a creative way to blend it all together behind the turntables. And share those bangers with a sexy crowd.

"Nesse dj set busquei apresentar a intercessão da musica contemporânea latina com grooves do dub techno, house e tribal house. Como pesquisador musical, tenho percebido o ressurgimento de diversas vertentes da bass music mesclada com funk, reggaeton, e guaracha. Sou grande apreciador dessa fusão e as sonoridades que têm surgido pra gente são realmente incríveis, minha pesquisa visa sempre uma maneira possível de costurar o que temos de contemporâneo com o que já é consolidado. 

De uma forma geral, também busquei construir uma atmosfera de incertezas, o mistério do que está por vir representa a maneira em que somos obrigado a dar um passo para trás com as nossas fantasias. Acredito que devemos sempre estar advertidos sobre as nossas interpretações, o que está por vir é indefinido, o campo da incerteza é provisório. Esse dj set carrega para mim o sentido provisório das nossas sensações."
