Because of its unique appearance, it is associated with the sun and was assigned to the sun in alchemical teachings. Thus, the ancient alchemists attributed similar properties to the element gold as to the sun. It was said to have a brightening effect on mood and one's energy level, to penetrate deep into the cells and to free the organism from all impurities and unhealthy conditions.
Consequently, gold became worldwide a highly desired and mystical material, which is surrounded by many myths and legends.
