I got a fantastic guide by the director Jiwon Seo, the main vocalist of Spellbound, first. It was a plain guide with the piano and the vocal only. When I arrange music, the first thing I do is to love the track. After a while, I start listening to different instruments in my mind. Then, I focus on the arrangement.

I especially like the time everybody sleeps. That’s when the most beautiful sounds come out. It is because I can hear the sounds of my imagination only without any distracting ones. That’s why I got to sleep early and woke up at 4 in the morning to work. I happily finished the arrangement, and instrumental performances as the music was great from the guide.

This track, ‘Frostwork,’ is beautiful in harmony with the elegant voice of Kiyoung Park and the Korean atmosphere.

처음엔 스펠바운드의 메인 보컬인 서지원 감독님의 환상적인 가이드를 받았어요. 피아노와 보컬만 있는 아주 담백한 상태의 가이드였는데요. 제가 편곡을 할 때 처음 하는 일은 이 노래를 사랑하는 것입니다. 그러다 보면 어느 순간 피아노 외의 다른 악기들이 들리기 시작해요. 그때 편곡 작업을 하면 집중이 아주 잘 되는 것 같아요.

저는 특히 모두가 잠든 시간을 좋아합니다. 그때가 가장 아름다운 소리가 나는 것 같아요. 아무런 소리가 안 나서 제가 상상하는 소리만 들을 수 있기 때문이죠. 그래서 이번 프로젝트를 작업할 때 일찍 잠들어서 새벽 4시에 기상해서 작업을 했습니다. 가이드부터 좋은 노래라서 정말 기분 좋게 편곡과 연주를 마칠 수 있었던 음악입니다.

박기영 씨의 청아한 목소리와 한국적인 분위기가 잘 어우러진 서리꽃은 정말 아름다운 곡이에요.

서리꽃 Frostwork (Siege of Jinju OST)

Waiting alone for someone to meet is sometimes romantic. At times like this, I organize my thoughts, appreciate views that I was too busy to look around, and listen to people passing by. It feels more romantic in a city. This track has improvisatory feelings by a piano performance like what's going on in a town on flowing and repetitive beats.

누군가를 만나기 전에 기다리는 그 순간에 혼자만의 그 시간이 참 낭만적일 때가 있어요. 생각을 정리하고 바빠서 놓친 풍경도 감상하고 지나가는 사람들의 이야기도 듣죠. 그곳이 도시라면 더 할 나위 없이 낭만적인 순간인 것 같아요. 흘러가듯 그리고 반복적인 비트 위에 도시의 현상처럼 즉흥적인 느낌을 피아노로 담아봤습니다.

There is a time when a feeling runs high after starting to miss someone. At times like this, I visit their social media or reminisce memories of them. The music expresses a night after being immersed in the longing. The sound on the rise by the piano accompaniment represents an upsurge of yearning.

누군가를 그리워하는 마음이 시작되면 끝도 없이 그 감정이 커지는 날이 있어요. 그러다 그 사람의 흔적을 SNS 나 추억 속에서 찾아보게 되죠. 그렇게 잠들어버리는 날을 음악에 담아봤습니다. 피아노 반주가 낮은 곳에서 점점 상승하는 연주는 점점 커지는 그리움을 표현했습니다.

Miss You

It expresses a feeling of drinking coffee in a park under a clear sky with beautiful clouds. It consists of a piano sound only to give some space in sounds. If you drink afternoon tea with this music, you would want to have it slowly until dinner.

구름이 참 예쁘게 보이는 맑은 날에 공원에 앉아 마시는 한 잔의 커피의 느낌을 표현했습니다. 많은 악기보다는 좀 더 사운드적으로 여유로운 공간을 내기 위해 피아노 하나로 만들어졌습니다. 이 음악을 들으며 에프터눈 티를 마시면 저녁식사 시간이 될 때까지 아껴 마시고 싶어질 거에요.

Afternoon Tea

When I want to be by myself, me-time is precious as my train of thought is not distracted. It is the music that makes you calm by repetitive notes and the steady rhythm of the piano.

가끔은 혼자 있고 싶을 때가 있죠. 그럴 때는 누군가에 의해 내 생각과 흐름이 바뀌지 않고 내가 주도하는 그 시간이 참 소중하게 느껴집니다. 피아노의 반복적인 음과 일정한 리듬이 마음을 편안하게 해주는 곡입니다.

Me Time

A short but sweet break is better than just a long one. This track expresses a peaceful micro-break between busy schedules. It has a feeling of freedom rather than a particular beat or harmonic rhythm.

마냥 길기 보다는 짧은 꿀맛 같은 휴식이 좋죠. 이 음악은 앞뒤로 빡빡하지만 그 사이 잠깐의 평화로운 휴식을 표현해 보았어요. 특정 비트나 하모닉 리듬을 갖추기 보단 여러모로 자유로운 느낌을 담아봤습니다.

This track is funny and exciting by up-beat. Feel the comic melody and intense beats. It is said you become happy as soon as you laugh. Just laugh with the music!

Crazy Night

This is suitable for intro music for a variety show. The guitar lines by a fast tempo express an interesting atmosphere, and the comic feelings harmonize well with any scenes.

예능의 짧은 오프닝 곡으로 잘 어울리는 곡입니다. 빠른 박자의 기타 라인이 아주 흥미로운 분위기를 표현하며 코믹한 느낌도 있어 어떤 장면이든 잘 어울립니다.

Do You Want It

The combination of jazz and beautiful piano performance that seems twinkling is relaxing. It makes me look forward to seeing little hope like the glow of a firefly on an exhausting day.

반짝거리는 듯한 아름다운 피아노 연주와 재즈의 조합이 마음을 편안하게 합니다. 왠지 고단한 오늘은 반딧불같이 작은 불빛 같은 희망을 볼 수 있기를 기대하게 됩니다.

Firefly Light

I am more influenced by a cloudy day just before it rains. Getting a fresh wind, I go to a studio and compose music on such a day. I am a person who is inspired more by pleasant, happy, and bright experiences than by sad memories and experiences. Hearing complete sounds in my mind, I find and put proper ones to make music.

I play various instruments, including the piano. Through piano performances, I can express emotions and feelings freely. I enjoy jazz, pop, and Motown-style performance.

I can make orchestral arrangements. Understanding the pros and cons of real and virtual instruments, I use them to complement each other appropriately. I have experience in arranging and recording a string nonet for the top-class Korean string team.

I mainly produce jazz, cinematic, pop, R&B, and relaxing background music, but genres are not limited to creation if they are suitable for expressing certain situations or feelings. I also make trendy sounds by mixing the elegance of jazz and musical elements of hip-hop or electronic.

Listening to the music of Monday Hopes gives pleasure. It helps you start your day with excitement and happiness. It touches you with joy and hope rather than sadness, making you cry with a smile. Our goal is to interact with people emotionally, from pleasant and happy to deep and dark feelings to console them.

저는 비 오기 전 흐린 날에 아주 큰 영향을 받습니다. 다른 어떤 날보다 그날만큼은 꼭 작업실에 앉아서 기분 좋은 바람을 맞으며 곡을 쓰곤 합니다. 슬픈 기억이나 경험보다는 즐겁고 기쁜, 그리고 웃음이 나는 경험에서부터 영감을 많이 받는 편입니다. 음악을 만들기 전 완성된 음악이 먼저 들리며, 그 소리를 하나씩 찾아가며 음악을 제작합니다.

저는 메인 악기인 피아노를 포함하여 다양한 악기를 다룹니다. 감정이나 느낌을 자유롭게 피아노 연주로 표현할 수 있으며, 주로 재즈 연주나 팝 음악, 모타운 스타일의 연주를 즐깁니다.

오케스트라 편곡을 할 수 있으며, 리얼악기와 가상악기의 장단점을 잘 파악해 적절히 서로 보완하여 사용합니다. 국내 정상급 스트링팀의 9인조 현악기 편곡 및 녹음 경험이 있습니다. 

재즈와 시네마틱, 팝, 알앤비 및 편안한 분위기의 배경음악을 즐겨 만들지만, 어떤 날, 어떤 상황 혹은 어떤 기분을 표현하기에 적당한 음악이라면 장르는 가리지 않습니다. 고급스러운 재즈와 힙합 또는 일렉트로닉한 음악의 요소를 섞어서 트렌디한 음악을 만들기도 합니다. 

먼데이홉스 음악은 듣기만 해도 기분이 좋아집니다. 소소하면서도 하루를 좀 더 활기차고 기분 좋게 시작할 수 있도록 도와줍니다. 슬픔보다는 기쁨과 희망으로 인한 벅차오르는 감동을 선물하여, 웃으며 눈물을 흘릴 수 있게 합니다. 저희의 목표는 기쁜 감정에서 아주 슬픈 감정까지 음악으로 사람들과 정서적 교감을 하는 것입니다.
