During my 3 month-stay in Belgrade in 2014 I ranged with my microphones and a recorder many areas of the city, preferably their peripheries.
The street-map, divided into eight rings became a base of my score. For each of this ring-districts a multichannel piece was formed. Raw field recordings as well as transformed soundmaterial are connected, both open insights in a lifely and complex acoustic landscape.
This piece nr. 5 represents the fifth "ring", main material is the recording of an escalator.

composition for 3 zithers and electronics. First performance in September 2014 at festival "Klangspuren" in Schwaz/Tirol, Austria by Trio GREIFER: Reinhilde Gamper, Leopold Hurt, Martin Mallaun.
The piece starts with short percussive events and develops to a sound continuum. This transition is not gradually but cut in many different sound- and time-states, like the transition from night to day.
