Upper90 (Luca Twomey) is a Producer and DJ originally from Australia, but currently based in Berlin. Luca’s music is high energy and heavily inspired by producers from the European house and trance scene. His 'euphoric' approach to producing in the studio is transformed into live shows across Europe. The Upper90 sound features intimate female vocals, 80's style synth and piano, paired with hard hitting 909 drum patterns. With a show already played at Mondo in Madrid supporting Narciss, and another EP planned for release this year, Luca intends to build on his growing European audience.

The sound of X CLUB., the dance production duo of Ben Clarke and Jesse Morath, is not easily defined. Inspired by early 90s techno all the way through to future-facing drum’n’bass, X CLUB. has carved out a space entirely their own thanks to their authentic and eclectic take on dance music with serious consideration for underlying groove.

Currently based in London, X CLUB. counts the likes of Steel City Dance Discs, Lobster Theremin and StayOnSight as homes for their releases already. The second half of 2022 will see the pair kick things into gear with a number of offerings before making their way back home for the summer festival circuit. September will see X CLUB. unleash their new EP 300 TOOLS FOR SUCCESS on Miley Serious’ 99cts Records, delivering four tracks full of pure groove and heavy hitting moments best served with a warning. Forthcoming projects on Tred’s label Global Amnesia and a return to Dance Discs are also on the horizon. The latter includes a feature from rising star Pretty Girl, the duo’s second foray into music videos, and ‘Say No More’ which has quickly become a go-to for label boss and friend Mall Grab in his own sets, igniting the “ID?”s across the digital realm.
X CLUB.’s sets are at once precise and considered as they are unrelenting and propulsive. The pair opt to guide their audience on a dynamic, energetic and unpredictable ride, upping the intensity and chaos before reaching total dancefloor liberation. Quickly emerging from sharehouses in Meanjin/Brisbane and onto the international stage, X CLUB.’s buzz as one of the hottest dance acts to watch at home and abroad is the result of friendship, authenticity, and of course, hard n’ fast tracks. A key part of a burgeoning collective of artists in their home of Meanjin and around Australia each making their presence known on the international stage alongside Skin on Skin, JamesJamesJames, Mutant Joe, Crush3d, Juicy Romance, Pretty Girl and many more. They remain connected by a sense of family, humility and a desire to make dance music that makes you feel just as much as it makes you move. 

In no time at all, X CLUB. has been quick to make their mark as a duo with expansive, dynamic and deliberate sonic influences by ensuring this is embedded directly into their music. Fans can expect anything from a sombre and reflective vocal-driven trance track to allout techno assaults; drum’n’bass heaters to pensive and poignant introspection — all within the same record. X CLUB. finds its strength lies not only in this freedom from typical genre constraints, but their willingness to go where their songwriting takes them.

Stepping up for the fourth edition of the Fractal Podcast is Eora / Sydney-based MASSI. One of Australia's most technically adept and melodically talented producers, MASSI. has made a name for himself by exploring all facets of electronic music, such as trance, techno, electro, breaks, and even elements of trap and hip hop. From a production standpoint, he really can't be compared. Additionally, as this mix showcases, his DJing ability is one which demands the attention of listeners. With his immensely captivating soundscapes and sonic ability, its clear that MASSI. is one that will be controlling dance floors and studio sessions alike for a while to come. Additionally, keep an eye out for MASSI.'s forthcoming EP on Fractal Tapes, it truly is one you can't ignore. Here are some words from MASSI. regarding the mix: 
"The selection of tracks in this mix showcases a bunch of my favourite genres and sub-genres that I’ve been exposed to recently, whilst all being connected through the overall depth and tones within each record. I wanted to incorporate bouncy four by four tech with syncopated breaks through the beginning of the mix and then transition into darker and heavier grooves that have more space within their respective mixdowns. Then capping it off with some quicker trance-influenced beats that all have a sense of emotion and euphoria. As always I love to showcase various unreleased tracks from myself & friends and many of these are part of my forthcoming EP “End of Regulation” on Fractal Tapes which I’m very excited about. Much love to Mr Bennett for giving this EP a home, many more class projects to come on his label."

'STÜM has fast become one of Australia’s most exciting DJ exports. Based between Melbourne and London, the founder of Happy Wax Records has now turned heads around the world with a sound he calls “chaotic bliss.”  It's a melange of euphoric trance, heavy-hitting techno, and emotionally-charged sounds that he delivers with great control and storytelling ability.

His fan base is so fervent that he often sells out shows in minutes, as he did when playing Sydney and Melbourne on a national tour, and he's also headlined many other major events across Europe. We caught up with him to talk Boiler Room drops, building tension at high speed, and why his edit of the classic 'Sun Chaser' always saves the dancefloor.'
