Melbourne singer-songwriter Monica Dean is gently bursting back into the music scene with her rich melancholic fusion of Pop, Jazz and Folk.

Her debut single 'Blue Adelaide Sky' was co-produced by Niko Schauble (Paul Grabowsky, Deborah Conway, Archie Roach) at Pughouse Studios, who also played drums on the track. Featuring Tamara Murphy on bass (Spirograph Studies, Andrea Keller, Kate Miller-Heidke) and harmonies by vocalist Anna Struth (The New York Minutes, Anna and Cam Duo).  

Dean's emotive sound is a considered weaving of melodious piano and heartfelt lyrics. It delves into life's indelible moments, including mortality, love, and family bonds - inviting reflection and providing solace through her storytelling and raw vocal vulnerability.  

Dean’s influences include George Michael, Tracy Thorn (EBTG), Leonard Cohen, Liz Stringer, and Nick Cave.

Dean's debut single 'Blue Adelaide Sky' is out now, proceeding her debut EP 'Shapes in the Trees' out 2024.
