We have been keeping in touch with samsin and his music for a minute now, after stumbling upon some of his earlier works, which eventually led to two singles on our Freebie series. 
Considering that he only recently developed an interest for music production in 2015, and eventually started to take the craft seriously at the beginning of 2016, samsin has shown a certain maturity. The summer of 2016 brought more attention from his contemporaries and led to various releases.  Samsin's style always allows you to imagine yourself in another place, and each of his songs reflects a deep insight into the way he thinks about space and textures. His taste brings excitement and intricacy with vivid floating melodies, punchy drums and a delicious blend of percussion and vocal chops - something that resonates with the spirit of DTW and we warmly welcome him to our growing family of artists.

Twelve: A number that conjures myriad connotations. For most of us it’s the essential measurement of black gold, the source of mystery that can only be extracted through a fine stylus. For others, it’s a way of measuring half days and dozens, zodiac signs or apostles. For Sorrow, it’s his latest EP.

Five stark, soul-arresting narratives deep, once again the Bristol beatsmith compounds his distinctive icy, introspective signature with rich detail, emotion and cavernous shadowy dynamics. His first full solo release of 2017, and his first EP on Inspected in over two years, ‘The Twelve’ follows a run of critical excursions, cameos and collaborations on the likes of Fent Plates and White Peach and continues to build on his unique status within the electronic game.

From the opening house subversions and foggy, mystical humanised textures of ‘Want U Back’ right through to the final smouldering beat abstractions and soft groans of the breath-taking title track finale, the entire EP is a trip into Sorrow’s innermost soul. In between we’re hit by the two-step trickery of ‘Reverie’, the heavy haze of ‘Frumoasa’ and the unabashed slo-mo gully of ‘Sheol’, each chapter telling its own Sorrowful tale, alluring you and spurring you to further corners of your thoughts… conjuring myriad connotations, like all good sources of mystery should.

[FSLAB012] Ishome - Confession

Hooray! A long-awaited debut album by Russia-based young girl-artist Ishome.
"Confession" - that's the name, post-everything-tronic - that's the style. She cuts, slices, play, programs and mixes it all together by herself making a soothing mixture of complex broken beats, ambient atmos, quirky pop vocals and ground moving grooves.
Mirabella Ishome Kiryanova lives here and there from time to time - from South Bounds to Siberia. Being pretty young she's already done a huge job - released on Proton Music US, won a national contest by Russia's one of the biggest web-zines Look At Me "10 Top Young Producers", played on Stereoleto SPb and EXIT fests, was remixed by D/R/U/G/S an many-many more.
She constantly plays live acts across the country BTW and it's pretty amazing how this young artful dodger creates an insane twist all over the dance floor every time she's conducting it.
So in "Confession" we see Ishome in her best. With loads of quotations from different genres and subs she keep a firm paw on her sounding so you could easily know - who's that. Yes, nothing special in this fact but it's quite interesting for a 20-yo girl to have such a strong hand and vibe. 9 tunes - from ambient to old-school driven breakbeat, 2-step-smth, atmo-grime, techno and back.
Well, all in all it might be the main album for us at least in 2013. And it speaks for itself!
