(Monk3ylogic Remix) - Part of The Game - Madmind [Neom Recordings]

We're back with two new huge psybreaks tracks! Turn it on and turn it up!

First up is 2 Million and Counting, a complete rework and remix of the lead track from 1 Million Monkeys, our first release on the legendary Broken Robot Records. We opened our last set at Noisily with a very early version of this track, to a packed Liquid stage on a Friday afternoon a couple of summers ago. The track starts with an epic build up and the point when the bass kicked in and the crowd went nuts was one of our all time favourite moments on stage! Many hours in the studio later we're super excited to finally share the finished version of this track with you.

The second track on this double A side is Are You A Hippy? Like the last, this track mixes things up, with a bassline that shifts gear and a lead line that morphs as the track builds. Old school psy vibes mesh with trippy psybreaks to create something new in psychedelic music. Written in the studio a while back we've not had the chance to play this one out much (for obvious reasons) but this is guaranteed to smash any psy dance floor!

Hot on the heels of our last EP we're delighted to present our latest release. Something a bit different, but still very much representing the psybreaks sound, Flow is a 2 track EP featuring a new track by us and a remix by the super talented Incredible Science.

Our original is first up. Flow opens with an ethereal guitar riff and slowly builds as psychedelic sounds interlace with acoustic instruments, while a pumping bassline underpins the groove. It's still dancefloor friendly psybreaks but showcases a softer side to the Monk3ylogic style.

The second track on the release is a remix by a new psybreaks artist that we're really excited to be working with having been a big fan of the music he's released over the last year!

Incredible Science is a music project of Okan Çalışkan. He announced his arrival on the scene in style with his debut release coming on the mighty Nano Records in 2020, aftering winning a remix contest for Killerwatts (Avalon & Tristan). Then in 2021 he released his first album, Sense Of Being, on Mystic Sound Records.

Incredible Science creates worlds that are full of unearthly interactions and a deep sense of psychedelic flow. You can hear this as soon as you listen to the remix, with swirling effects and new elements backed up by crisp production, reinterpreting our original into something absolutely unique, but still a fusion of psytrance and breaks.

Liquid Tek Vol 1 is the latest offering from the legendary UK underground dance label, Liquid Records, and is the mutant brainchild of label DJ, Lurk. Always seeking fresh ground, and never wanting to confine themselves within one genre, the Liquid crew are constantly looking for new directions in which to take the label, whilst remaining true to their psychedelic roots. Liquid Tek Vol 1 is the first in a series of releases that aims to melt genres together and deliver quality dancefloor material to the masses. The emphasis is on unearthing the best new talent and taking the more established producers out of their comfort zone in order to keep things fresh. Vol 1 takes big bites out of techno, electro and progressive house, chews them up and spits out four chunks of groovy goodness. 

The EP rumbles into life with “Cushin’ for the Pushin’”, written by Dick Trevor with Tongue & Groove. It's a smooth, techno roller which grabs your mind’s booty and gives it a good shake, pulling you in with crisp production and a deep atmosphere. The next track is Atomic Drop's "Sneaker Freak", better known for their electro house monsters, here they're they're wearing their freaky tekhouse sneakers. They tweak it right up, using a tight percussive groove to build momentum before a glitched-out break launches you into a fully immersive final run. This brings us to the outer limits of "Slab City", written by newcomers Tongue & Groove, who evoke memories of Platypus Records in their hayday, while retaining a contemporary progressive house edge. With a bassline thats very much true to the track's name, it's guaranteed to work the dancefloor hard. Monk3y Logic are on hand to deliver the killer final blow with Sentient Stereo. Rising stars of the electro scene, their original take on the genre is taking dancefloors by storm everywhere their music is played. If tracks carried wallets, this one's would have "bad motherfucker" written across it; rinsing techno and electro together it provides the filthiest of endings to the EP.

Ahead of our album release planned for late 2021, we're excited to present two new psybreaks tracks.

First up is Biosphere, a brand new full on psybreaks track written remotely during lockdown, and a taster of what to expect from our album. The second track on the EP is This World, a track that we've played many times in our live sets (remember them!?), but freshly mastered and sounding better than ever.
