This mix was recorder in a very deep state of mind, i think adrenal fatigue is hitting me hard, too many responsibilities to handle, a big coffee machine company that keeps rocking, a large record collection that pulses out and would like to be heard somewhere, a deep distance from my son which is in my heart all the time, the dream of a Festival in my own town, and the sensation that the future looks pretty scary upfront.... here is what i think enjoy...

I always found it challenging to record a studio podcast: my analytical mind is trying to calculate every move, evaluate each transition & criticize the selection. I have time, music & equipment at my disposal, but one key element is missing to really tell a story: humans.

I encountered that problem last weekend. Although I was playing music I enjoy, I felt that my technically structured mix was too stiff and impersonal. 

____

Then, some of my favourite humans turned up at the studio. As Ashley, Apolline, Axel & Robin entered the room, the studio was suddenly filled with a great energy & I felt like pressing the rec button again, just for fun - this is when the first minutes of  S y m b i o s e  were captured.

I feel this studio mix is an authentic representation of the energy levels I like to navigate through during a longer set. It features some of my favourite tracks in a nod to the past but also has a touch of the future; new sounds that are moving me forward & some of my new compositions.

I’m happy to share this mix as I’m taking off for Argentina, what marks my first adventure of the decade. This music session brought me clarity, presence & joy! I hope you'll resonate with it.

@AntonTumas (Los Angeles) is a man that wears many hats. As a DJ, promoter, and label owner, he has left an inevitable mark on the underground scene, spanning over a decade.Cutting his teeth at LA’s clubs, desert parties like Moontribe and Burning Man, where he’s played everything from Robot Heart to DISTRIKT and Mayan Warrior, festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle, Desert Hearts, Further Future and Woogie Weekend... Refusing to be limited by run of the mill music, his ever-evolving taste ranges from the farthest corners of house and techno to abstract electronica and everything in between.Gaining the ability to control a dance floor led to his being inspired to understand the makings of a good party. Using his laser-like focus, he was soon a self-taught promoter, throwing parties in city parks and outdoor venues. Most notably, he essentially discovered the Belmont Pier in Long Beach as a venue, and set up one of the region’s most respected residencies, Subtract On The Pier.Now, with years of experience under his belt, he is ready for the next chapter. “We’re in an ever-evolving landscape, and are inventing it as we speak. But take this as a promise: We are about to raise the bar.”

LYO RADIO #04 (Rinse France / 2 March 2020)

It was a Wednesday afternoon, MW artcar’s engine starts and together with a wave of bikes we begin our ride through the dust. Slaloming through the art installation, encountering the most special and magical moment on the Playa with a beautiful shining sun, we are so impressed by the conviviality of the lifeless desert. Julien on the saxophone, Thomas on the piano, we begin our new live set, relaxed. 
Halfway through, the wind increases, we spot a cloud of dust approaching and in a few minutes, we became surrounded by a dust storm! Praying our gears won’t drop on us and aging by the minute with our white sandy airs and eyebrows, we eagerly continue, until the clouds and the storm starts clearing. The Shining in the Dark. This is the type of moment where you realize the magical events of life, the luck we are blessed to live, and how this experience will forever be engraved in our hearts.
