MonkeyRobot is an eclectic duo made of Brussels based beatmakers Eric P and LuiGi. Exploring the bounderies between 90 and 120 BPM became their trademark. After being focused on the production of their anticipated Electro-Jazz project "74 Miles Away" (<a href="http://www.74milesaway.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.74milesaway.com</a>) which was released on Melting Pot Music in 2010 (<a href="http://www.mpmsite.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.mpmsite.com</a>) , they will put forward their beatmaking activities and will offer some music from their archive vaults as well as new and freshly cut material on this page.

Swimming Tv - Shaman

This track was created around the intro of a classic soul-boogie tune from the 80's by <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdGNeC2G1AU" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Jocelyn Brown</a> that LuiGi sampled a while ago, after finding the 12'' hit-single ' Somebody else's guy ' on a local flea market near his place for a bargain price. It's rather rare (for MonkeyRobot) to start composing a tune from vocal chops; it is actually more common to add vocal bits when the track is almost layered. In this case (even we knew the original track for a long time) the deep and soulful intro from Brown instantly gave us inspiration. LuiGi previously recorded some chords and a melodic structure that we just had to bring back to another key scale, in order to match the vocal chops. The edgy drum pattern and bassline were layered on the same day.
It is our pleasure we finally can share this track, that for an unexplainable reason was put on a dusty shelf for a long period. Most people pretend beats aren't getting better with age like red wine…well, in this case 'Hooked up' still sounds fresh to us.

This track is a remix of 'The Tourist' by infamous Canadian pianist 'Chilly' Gonzales (real name Jason Charles Beck) from his great and melancholic album ' Solo Piano '. This remix just reflects autumn. "When leaves start to fall" could have been an alternate description for this remix.

Arapaima's debut EP, "Sun Key" comes to an end with its second part. After its more bass-heavy precursor, this one showcases a softer, yet still quirky sound deeply enrooted in either oldschool house or r&b. 

"Sun Key" is the English interpretation of the Romanian term (sanky) for 'syke', a half passionate, half tongue-in-cheek attitude towards or regarding something. With a mixture of witty edits of older club classics and his soothingly intense trademark sound, Arapaima gives everyone a glimpse into his artistry and general demeanor.
