Following on from their last single Evidence, Peckham-based band Monks In The Wood are back with an exquisite new single. No Love out 2nd March 2018 via Spinnup.

Flowing with twinkling hooks and sweeping, impassioned harmonies, No Love oozes a delicate beauty and rich, anthemic splendour. Inspired by the contrasting feelings found within relationships and everyday life, it’s a stirring, emotion-strewn slice of indie-pop with a sound akin to the likes of Broken Bells or The Shins.

Monks In The Wood formed back in 2015 when Matt Power (vocals/guitar), Daniel Toone (vocals/guitar) and James Oliver (drums) left former band Deltar and joined forces with Laurence Brydges (bass) and Samuel Powell (keys). Since then they’ve honed their unique style, receiving acclaim from the likes of BBC Introducing London and When The Horn Blows, and charming crowds at Into The Wild and Greenstone Festival. Now, they hope to break the barriers of the generic ‘indie’ style, and allure listeners across the UK and beyond with the emotive majesty of No Love.

Monks In The Wood are back with ’Consider Phlebas’, a nod to the sci-fi novel by Iain M Banks. The song is a thought provoking, empathetic track with emotive harmonies and spacey feeling synths which will be available on all digital platforms on June 14th 2019.

Monks In The Wood are based in Peckham, South London. Since forming, they have honed their unique style, receiving acclaim from the likes of BBC Introducing London, Clash and When The Horn Blows.

With their melodic synths and vocal harmonies, the band have been compared to such a variety of different styles from Duran Duran, Deerhunter to ELO, showing the band truly have their own vibe which seems to resonate with listeners of different ages and music tastes.
