MARC HOULE UNVEILS ‘RESTORED’ REMIX ALBUM 	

Marc Houle is set to release a full remix package from his debut LP, Restore, featuring remix contributions from an all-star line-up of techno luminaries including Danny Daze, Harvard Bass, Julian Jeweil, Joris Voorn, M.A.N.D.Y., Popof and Marc Houle himself.

Originally released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label a decade ago, Restore stands alone as Houle’s very first long-player and helped to establish his penchant for the quirkier side of techno and his superlative production skills. Spread across 11 tracks it encapsulated the dark, minimal, groove-driven sound purveyed by Hawtin and the rest of the Minus crew, while retaining a strong sense of Houle’s unique character and identity. Now it’s the perfect time to breath new life into an album that has stood the test of time, still utterly infectious and absorbing – a collection of music that captures an era of stripped back, yet captivating sounds. 

10 years since its release, the album is getting the remix treatment and Marc has called in some of the very best in techno talent to give Restore a fresh makeover. The selection of artists who’ve contributed to the ‘Restored’ project includes heavyweights such as Joris Voorn, M.A.N.D.Y. and Popof together with additional reworks from stars of the new generation such as Danny Daze, Julian Jeweil and Harvard Bass, all giving his tracks a new lease of life. In addition, Houle himself has also stepped up to offer a new contemporary take on his own music, collaborating with vocalist Genevieve Marentette on ‘Demor’.

The Valley of the Shadow is part of the Hero's Journey, which must face its monsters, beat them and be reborn stronger. It’s in the  discomfort and the pain that we can find the strength, the  wisdom, and the courage to move on. In this magnificent EP the brazilian duo KarVeltt projects in our minds a true trilogy of transformation and rebirth. 'Red Lake', 'Shadow Path' and 'Another Plan' explore the techno in his obscure, melodic and progressive dimensions. For the remixes we invited two of today's biggest Brazilian producers, Paulo Foltz, with an absolutely energetic remix to 'Red Lake', and Dub Recycle, giving an even more melancholic tone to 'Shadow Path'.

Remorse is an emotional expression of personal regret felt by a person after they have committed an act which they deem to be shameful, hurtful, or violent. Remorse is closely allied to guilt and self-directed resentment.

This is surely something we don't have bringing Dub Recycle to the Not Another family. His new installment brings us 3 pieces of deep, ethereal and melodic techno that pleased our ears since the first audition.

The title song 'Remorse' is misterious, deep and dark as we like. Lots of glitchy sounds filling up the stereo, deep melodic lines slowly building up across the track keeping the mistery in the air and raw synths bringing that roughness that we love. A perfect track to start the EP.

Madore follows up keeping the mistery in the air but bringing more melodies together. Nice arpeggios, pads and leads gives the flow on this one, caried by a great 808 groove and a raw melodic bassline.

Lemure closes the EP with more melodies and melancholy. Stabby sounds keeps the flow while the melodic bassline and synth leads do their job and go for a great end.

Artist Notes.

Diego Pontes, born in Piracicaba, started producing e-music in 2002 and two years later started playing as DJ. With a hypnotical and straight style, he’s got some Techno influences but doesn’t leave the psychedelic side behind, bringing a sensation of mental journey, leading everyone to another dimension through a psychedelic trip. Aggressive synth lines and heavy bass are definitely his trademark.

Synthesized is the second project that Kamino release at lower bpms after the first compilation Never Ends released back in April 2010.
