All these feelings and connections gather in gi’s Cleptu contribution. Her debut EP is imminent, to be released on Alternate States Tapes in October. 

I’m very pleased that she participated and will be the one to guide us through her musical fascinations.

Gadi’s gi presents a tapestry of uncontained sound and a truly enchanting contribution to our series. A braided chorus of otherworldly artifacts and the swell of a straining tide form a vessel for the radical disassembly and reimagination of our present reality. Thanks to gi for entrusting us with the core of their singular world.

Monochrome presents, 𝖆𝖚𝖙𝖔𝖒𝖓𝖊 𝓥 : gi, world of knots.


This autumn, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno, Drum & Bass and Tribe.


Artist Biography :
gi is a musician from Gadi (Sydney.) Her sound blurs the outer limits of drone, idm and techno, interested in how generative sound design and asynchronous repetition can coalesce to create emotional music.

Following self-released sketches in 2022, and contributions to compilations by Comic Sans Records (FR), Pure Space (AUS), Twin System (UK), Companion (AUS) she released her debut EP on Altered States Tapes in October 2023 and follow-up liveset EP on Beyond the Bridge (Seoul) in March 2024.

In 2024 gi presented her debut album on Absorb  (AUS) and launched the World of Knots label, while continuing to refine her unique style of warehouse oriented experimentalism, across live & DJ sets.

Today we share a recording by close friend of the label, CP1; recorded live, somewhere in Milan, 20/12/2023.

@cipppo showcases ritualistic tension and masterful sound design with an hour of improvised sketches, uneasy drones and bodily utterances. The rising Italian producer, @stagno-records co-founder and one half of duo Hagva, takes us into his inner workings where paranoia and ecstasy mirror each other.

This ritual unfolds under hushed moonlight, lips kept tight. You'll find the way.

A London DJing and promotion mainstay since 2006, Casper Clark started using the name Volte-Face in 2014 when his first productions started to land, initially on his own label BleeD, with subsequent appearances on the likes of Semantica, Non-Series and Phorma. The period up until 2019 was marked by appearances at important beacons of the European techno scene such as Berghain, Tresor, Khidi, Trouw, Shelter, Rex, Razzmatazz, Lux and Gare as well as tours of the US and Asia. 

On a somewhat enforced hiatus since 2019, he’s recently found his way back to DJing with a renewed sense of focus and purpose, with a desire to explore and share a wider range of interests than he felt able or permitted to do in the past. His regular ambient series ‘Through The Wreckage’, and usually quite experimental radio shows can be found via his Soundcloud and this mix, his first on a podcast since an ambient set for Monument in 2018, hones in on a deep and heady broken-beat rhythm.

Mostra (@mostrabcn) is an independent, small-format festival of avant-garde and experimental electronic music which emerged by the end of 2021 as a counterpoint to the macro-festivals and the overcrowded, commercial and impersonal offerings of other large events held in Barcelona. Mostra will be celebrating its fourth edition from 17 to 20 April in 2025.

Hailing from the sunny shores of southern France and co-founder of the Noise Workers collective, 9dwa navigates through various genres and rhythms.
Immersed since childhood in the captivating waves of trip-hop and psychedelic music, he crafts sets where deep grooves intertwine with textured soundscapes. His musical approach blends downtempo, breakbeat, drum and bass, and deep techno elements, always striving to merge experimental and danceable materials, creating immersive soundscapes that transport listeners on a unique auditory journey.
