Early on the day but on the edge of heat-stroke with all of you, covering with cardboards and whatever we found the machines, also on the edge of exploding, on a day that would expand and evolve followed by a crazy line-up into that magic forest. 
It was for us a perfect way to get together again after so many years and try to synchronize a totally unrehearsed sonic adventure in which you might even learn some stuff about whales or whatever those voices say. Hope you enjoy this middle hour of the live set.

It's 1 March, winter's almost at an end and it's time to discover this new session, the nineteenth since the series began, and today we're honoured to invite an immensely talented and machine-savvy artist based in Zurich, Mateo Hurtado!  Here, the artist offers us an hour of mystical, tribal set, a mix of shamarnic incantations, binaural drum beats, celestial pads and distant synthetic chants that could evoke the dawn of humanity. Mateo Hurtado is a well-known figure in deep techno music, having produced albums and EPs on prestigious labels such as @annulled_music and @spacedrummeditation, on @secuencias_temporales, and was also featured on our ACCENTVA series. Monochrome presents, 𝖍𝖎𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖑𝓥 : Iffie, Into The Abyss.

This winter, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Iffie is a dj and project currator based in Athens.
Her sound explores dark and deep elements with an affinity for modern techno. She loves making her sets as cohesive as possible, intertwining various genres by leaving no room for sudden transitions.
She has established her own Podcast Series called Into The Abyss.

In 2018, he released his first album, «From Earth to Heaven» on the French label Lett Records. Exploring deeper atmospheres and focused on emotion, his music is dedicated to travel and introspection.
His works can be found on the brilliant South Korean label Oslated/Huinali, and also on Annulled, Precept, or Stellar Transitions.

Axymt. (@axymt) is a vinyl collector. His curation mainly oscillate between ambient and deep techno. From Lyon, it’s with passion for hypnotic rhythms and patterns that he creates his sets. Member of several collectives such as Monochrome association, Ouroboros or atmòs sphaîra, Axymt. is well known for his ability to create an immersive atmosphere during his performances. He always looking for create a ritual for listeners, using his music to guide them on a deep inner journey.

For this new episode, Axymt offers us a deep subaquatic sonic journey, letting us feel invigorated and transformed by fast hypnotic techno rhythms, with envelopping atmospheres and strong attention to minimalist patterns.

For this episode, Axymt invites us to discover Hvergelmir.

In Norse mythology, Hvergelmir is described as a massive spring located in the realm of Niflheim, one of the Nine Worlds. Niflheim is known for its extreme cold and darkness, and Hvergelmir is said to be the coldest and darkest place within it.

Hvergelmir is considered the source of all living waters in the cosmos. It is the origin of eleven rivers called the Élivágar, which flow through Niflheim. These rivers eventually contribute to the creation of the primeval giant Ymir, who is the progenitor of the giants in Norse mythology.

According to some accounts, Hvergelmir is also home to the dragon Níðhöggr, who gnaws at the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil. The water from Hvergelmir is believed to nourish the roots of Yggdrasil, which helps sustain the entire cosmos.

In Norse cosmology, Hvergelmir holds significant importance as one of the primal forces of creation, embodying the concept of primordial chaos and the origin of life-giving waters in the universe.

Nico grew up in a small coastal town in Galicia in the late 80s. In 2008, he started to involve himself with deeper shades of electronic music and their profound sentimental atmospheres. His interest became an obsession, and within two years he began to play in clubs across the Spanish northwest.

According to the artist, he was influenced by a golden generation of local DJs who helped define and shape his sound in terms of dance music, along with a rounded love of legendary bands and artists from across the musical spectrum. His musical philosophy is that everyone has something to bring, so there is always something to learn.

In 2015, Nico moved to Barcelona, expanding his horizons both artistically and personally. He’s currently one of the residents of the renowned Nitsa Club, and together with the duo Binomi, is responsible for HIRU, a multi-venue party across the city designed as an ode to club culture.

Nico prefers not to pigeonhole himself into any particular style, but his sets are nothing short of hypnotic. When he plays, he looks for that peculiar sensory union with the dance floor that connects them without words, seeking to lead the night in the same direction together.
