Somewhere lurking under the last leaves on the ground, squirming and squelching with the mycelium and microorganisms, we find Timnahs sonic world tucked away in a sacred place. Taking inspiration from the natural world, she has solidified a name for herself as a purveyor of psychedelic rhythms and carefully curated cacophonies. As a resident at the renowned Elysia club in Basel, she has honed her skills further and expanded her sound into ambient and experimental territories. 

This edition of Unrush is a testament to Timnah's ear for the uncanny and sense for crafting a dynamic narrative. Solemn drones guide us like a soft breeze into the winter months, only interrupted by washes of organic textures and subtle electronics. We hope you enjoy this masterful mix from one of Switzerland's finest.

Happy new year and welcome to 2024! Bright Patterns welcomes Garçon from Switzerland for this new chapter of the show. He’s a resident at Elysia in Basel and co-runs Amenthia Recordings with Agonis. More often than not, we have the pleasure of hearing his deep cerebral explorations of rhythm, building sets and mixes with thoughtful intention for the dance floor. While I and many others enjoy these recordings again and again, he presents a softer side here that’s equally as brilliant. “I wanted to play music i'd like to listen to in the morning or stay in bed to” he added. Monochrome presents, 𝖍𝖎𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖑𝓥 : Pjenné, Passing Notes.

This winter, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Pjenné (Penny O’Brien) is a familiar name in the Melbourne dance community. Through her imaginative club sets and weekly show on Melbourne’s PBSfm Radio, she has established herself as a critical fixture in the local scene. Though her sets may vary wildly, Pjenné has crafted a style that is distinctly her own - atmospheric whilst bass-heavy, it’s sure to make you want to move.
The after-hours see her navigating through all realms of dance music - energetic sets that are heavily driven by the psychedelic and progressive sounds of the 90s and beyond. Equally adept at playing small, sweaty basements as she is festival stages, Pjenné has made multiple appearances at the highly acclaimed Inner Varnika, Strawberry Fields, Golden Plains and Boiler Room.
Away from the dancefloor, Pjenné finds a sanctuary inside the radio booth. Her show Passing Notes further explores her fascination with the diversity of electronic music, as well as the community it fosters. The airwaves afford her the opportunity to showcase sounds a little more unorthodox. From early evening soundscapes, downtempo and emotional synth pop, to experimental club music, Passing Notes provides a crucial connection from club to community, also playing host to inspiring local and international talent. 
Pjenné’s passion for what she does is pervasive. Be it in the studio or on the dancefloor, the same beliefs shine through: the importance of community, of supporting each other and the necessity of a damn good dance.

Hailing from Montevideo, Uruguay, Melina Serser (@melinaserser) began her musical odyssey in 2010 under the mentorship of Dj Koolt, emerging as a dedicated record collector. Over the past decade, she has developed a distinctive and refined musical style, establishing her standing as a respected downtempo maestro, recognized for her unique slow but danceable sound. In each performance, she skillfully mix a harmonious fusion of tribal rhythms, dub, ambient, down-tempo, mid-tempo and electronica. In her musical exploration, Melina is not merely a performer; she becomes a storyteller, guiding listeners through a sonic journey that resonates with emotions, symbols, and Groove. The immersive nature of her sets invites the audience to transcend the ordinary, embracing a transformative experience that engaging in an immersive experience that leaves a lasting impact beyond the performance. As a prominent figure in the European music scene, Melina, has performed on prestigious stages, including Primavera Sound, Dekmantel, Houghton, Paral·lel, Dimensions, Waking Life, and other top festivals around the globe.

We are deeply excited to share Donato and Marco’s grand finale for the last edition of Terraforma at Villa Arconati. With great humbleness, these two masters and dear friends have carefully broadened and lulled, record after record, an intimate space of trust, exchange and deep-time connection.

“Dozzy and Shuttle’s finale unfolded like twilight. A prolonged dusk caressed by an eerie drizzle. Shadows and whispers echoing with the surroundings. Synapses slowly reaching the ground, merging and becoming one with the underground rhizomatic networks. A memorable rendez-Nous within a fractal space. It felt like being at the core center of the matrix, enveloped by a warmth reminiscent of a maternal womb.
