Originally intended as a garage rock album, it took an unexpected turn, resulting in a collection of slower, sadder, and more delicate songs—all live instruments, minimal synth, heavily influenced by mid-2000’s indie rock. Reflecting on the moodiness of the songs, Craig Williams shares, "I guess I was in that place but I didn't realize it."

This departure from the initial vision encapsulates a poignant realization. With electric guitars, bass, and drums forming the backbone, the EP channels a heartfelt exploration of love stories—reflecting on love lost or transformed. As Williams notes, "Several of the songs are love songs, but about the kind that got away. Or that changed. But I think in the end, what they're really about is appreciation.”

Moody rock outfit Mono Coyote created their 5-track debut EP “A Spark” across several locations in France. While the majority was tracked in Paris, the band rented a small cottage in the Loire Valley to finish vocals and overdubs. The bustle of the city mixed with the calm of the countryside gives the sound a mood, feeling, and space unique to the places where it was crafted. Extended guitar solos expand and contract in surprising ways, evoking life in the city of light.
