Some day

Following the passing of jazz legend Yusef Lateef in December, Gilles went through the innovator's extensive back-catalogue going all the way back to the 1950s, pulling out some of his personal favourite tracks. Here is part one of Gilles' tribute mix, celebrating the life and music of the mighty Yusef Lateef.

Cuban Vinyl Mix

Alumnus of the Steve Reid Foundation and recently signed to Ninja Tune, percussionist, drummer and producer Sarathy Korwar, fuses traditional folk music of the Sidi community in India (combining East African, Sufi and Indian influences) with jazz and electronics. Following a Worldwide Premiere (below) from his debut album, Day To Day, he offers up a Worldwide mix that shows the breadth of his global influences.
