this set is utterly incredible, best monolake ive heard, and it's not even released. This needs an offiical release! what I would give to time travel to 1999 to be in the room 🤘

This is a live recording, captured at Ego club in Düsseldorf, June 5 1999.  The music has been created with a self written step sequencer, the PX-18, controlling  a basic sample player and effects engine, all done in MaxMSP, running on a Powerbook G3. The step sequencer had some unique features, e.g. the ability to switch patterns independently in each track, which later became an important part of a certain music software.

I found the recording on a backup disk today. It has not been edited or mastered. During the first 20 minutes of the set, and before the 'encore' the Monolake CD 'Gobi' is playing in the background.

This recording is from the first edition of L’Appuntamento, a series of open-air listening sessions initiated by Villa Lontana Records and Donato Dozzy in Rome. Each gathering pairs a vinyl set by Dozzy with a live electroacoustic performance by a new-generation artist.

In this first edition, held in the garden of Villa Lontana, Donato Dozzy opened the evening with a selection of minimal, folkloric, and acoustic-rooted records — setting the tone for Verde Prato’s live performance.

L’Appuntamento is an ongoing invitation to pause, tune in, and share time through listening.

“This set was recorded live 5-7pm, Saturday evening at Pe:rsona, 2025. The seemingly last dry-ish stretch and set of wild (weather) weekend, sunshowers made way for glistening droplets to  sparkle through the shade sails and lay foundation for me to weave between deeper percussive cuts and shiny crystalline daytime techno.”

Pjenné is a Naarm/Melbourne-based DJ, radio broadcaster, curator and label manager. Her musical identity is shaped by the expansive, psychedelic soundscapes of the southern bush, an influence that permeates her trance-inducing, progressive, and hypnotic selections.

Pjenné’s sets are characterised by deep-digging selections and an impeccable narrative craft, both of which are on full display in this masterfully executed recording. Tune in now for two hours of deep, lush afternoon techno daydreams.

Avsluta is the project of Czech-born, London-based sound alchemist Lucie Štěpánková - a composer, DJ, curator, and live performer whose work invites deep, intentional listening in an age of constant acceleration. Inspired by the life and teachings of Pauline Oliveros, as well as her years of study in sound art, Avsluta’s practice is rooted in listening and presence as a practice. To me, Avsluta has always been a reminder of the slow life - encouraging slowness and reflection while drawing attention to how our living environments are shaped by sound.

Her ritualistic music-making practice often begins simply, with a cup of tea and incense lit, setting the tone for her intuitive approach to creativity. Moving fluidly between contemplative ambient soundscapes, downtempo, and subtle rhythmic techno inspiring of embodied movement, Avsluta’s music blends traditional production practices with field recordings, free improvisation using collected objects and organic materials and often her own ethereal vocals.
Live performance plays a vital role in her practice, including work with improvisation and spatial audio. Beyond her own artistic output, Avsluta is deeply engaged in nurturing listening cultures and community. She runs Introspective Electronics, a platform featuring a radio show and podcast series dedicated to peaceful soundtracks for slow Sundays. Alongside Alicia, she co-curates Terra Obscura, a bi-monthly event series, and has recently expanded into music management as a booking agent with Organic Signs.
