Nautical Dub

There isn’t really anyone that sounds like Samuel Kerridge. A singular artist with a true and brutalist vision of club catharsis, his is a blend of bleakest atmosphere and exploded blast-beat weight that toils through acres of distortion till it reaches the floor. So far his music has found fitting homes in Karl O’Connor’s Downwards, James Ruskin’s Blueprint and the shadowy world of Horizontal Ground. Kerridge’s next move, inevitably, is to do things his own way. His 2nd album, Always Offended Never Ashamed will inaugurate his new label, Contort Records in early 2015. Named after the now-infamous parties he runs in Berlin with his wife Hayley, it promises electronic music from the very edge.

This exclusive mix for Crack sees Kerridge pull together droning swamps of noise, ten-tonne percussion and drowning seas of bass into just under an hour of relentless turbulence. More than 5 years ago we organized one of our first big events together with "Mischwerktanzen" and "Licht Aus!" under the name "The POOL Berlin". "From Berlin with Love" was the result of the effort to finally present our vision to the public. Back then POOLcast was just an idea for the far future and now we look back on 50 episodes. Made possible by artists from all parts of the world, using a wide variety of genres to entertain our audience, which is also at home all over the planet. Once again, we can only thank the artists who inspire and drive us with their creativity, as well as the listeners who share their enthusiasm with us.

The artists who participated at that event were Alicia Hush, Marlene Magnoli, Demas, ANN, Dr.Nojoke, Ana+one, Florist and akustooptik. This episode shows a 5 hour cut of the live stream and the recording of the performances of Demas b2b ANN, Marlene Magnoli and Dr.Nojoke.

JIM'S Prophecy Podcast #006 w/ the german DJ/Producer DAVID HAUSDORF (Styrax Leaves, Minimood, DeepLabs Detroit...)

Born in 1978 in East-Berlin, David Hausdorf trained as a classical musician from the age of 5 years old, eventually leading him to playing in the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
It was during the mid 90’s where Hausdorf discovered his passion for Detroit- and Dub-Techno, previously been strongly influenced by the innovative sound at Berlin’s Techno Club Tresor he published his first Record in 1998 on Synaptic Waves, followed by releases on Müller Records, Salo, Lifetime Music and Styrax Leaves. His tracks appeared on compliations such as François K’s „Masterpiece“ or Thomas Schumacher’s „Si-Fi 4.4“. David recently released quite a few new tracks on labels like Minimood, DeepLabs Detroit, Grounded in Humanity, Ranges, DubIto and MixCult.
