 String Theory is the third single from MONOMONO/IIIOIIOIIIOIIO’s upcoming album Daughter of Data.

Opening with lush synths and strings, String Theory feels like wandering through the dreamlike logic of a video game.  Layered harmonies of acoustic string instruments — violin, ancient Greek lyre, and harp — create a rich, organic foundation with emotional depth.                A push and pull between screechy strings and very delicate bow movements results in an inescapable melodic groove that pumps up the heartbeat of the listener throughout the track, eliciting a bodily reaction to an overwhelming universe.

‘Social Distancing 1.4’ is curated by ‘Psst Mlle’, the Brussels based platform promoting non-masculine artists. Offering a plurality of styles by five female artists, Psst Mlle’s eclectic selection expresses the willingness to bring people from different backgrounds together. Artists such as Dziri,MONOMONO, Afia, Fleur and Laryssa Kim contribute to this release with sounds ranging from deep & soulful to uptempo Middle Eastern infused acid.

A major thank you goes to all the artists involved for their kind gifts, the city of Brussels for their kind support and everyone else who makes this project possible.

C12 is a multidisciplinary nightclub and platform run by the Deep in House collective, located in the heart of Brussels. It's a safe place where freedom, diversity, creativity and alternative culture are protected from the restrictive and normative outside world. The project was launched in February 2018 and includes concerts, art installations, lives, club nights and exhibitions.

The Corona crisis is keeping our doors closed and dancefloor empty for several weeks now, with no hopes yet on new line-ups and crowds of enthusiastic dancers. But this unprecedented situation isn’t holding us still. Continuing to support our local Brussels and Belgian electronic music scene, C12 is proud to announce its own label with 10 music compilations dubbed Social Distancing. All artists involved are Belgian or strongly connected to the Brussels scene. Confirmed are Le Motel, Stellar OM Source, A.Brehme, Front De Cadeaux, Davy, OCB Casa Voyager, Cabasa, Techno Thriller, Orphan Swords, Different Fountains, Bear Bones Lay Low, Gols, Hadone, ... and our residents Session 4000, Kafim & Chris Ferreira. Compilations will also be curated by female artists promoting platform ‘Psst Mlle’ and queer culture collective ‘Benediction’.

Each edition consists of a collection of several tracks and will be released every two weeks, leading to a total of approximately fifty tracks. All music will be available to add on your favorite streaming service Soundcloud, Youtube, Spotify (coming soon) and Bandcamp. In addition for each track we offer a limited amount of 500 free downloads through our Bandcamp page, where donations are also enabled for those who wish to support us and the artists involved.

Premiere: Monomono - Jeanne [Teorema]

MONOMONO/IIIOIIOIIIOIO crafts immersive sonic worlds where electro-acoustic textures, classical elements, and techno converge. The duo — violinist and sound designer Hester-1, and musician, composer, and visual artist Anne van de Star — blends raw, synthetic sound art with hypnotic rhythms, poetic fragments, and dark, pulsating walls of sound.

Their work moves fluidly between electronic composition, multimedia installations, and commissions for film, theatre, and video games. They have been artists in residence at TRIX (Antwerp, Belgium), Gold Records Studio (Copenhagen, Denmark), and Tiyatro İkincikat (Istanbul, Turkey). They recently performed at techno club Hall during Tallinn Music Week and at Playtime Festival in Bruges Royal Municipal Theatre
