Nottingham-based producer Lee Eden, AKA Animist, brings a dope re-rub of a Blue Boy classic from ’95 for Phil Weeks' Robsoul Recordings.
Plucky jazz bass and finger-clicking swing meet crisp and punchy percussion on Sandman, as Animist utilises The Undisputed Truth vocal to perfection to create a smooth key-laden, horn-fuelled funker. Dancefloor perfection. 
Too Much rolls with a techier bump as two-step aesthetics, deep bassline and razor-sharp hi-hats drop us into a teasing break,  only to explode like a glitter bomb with some French Touch flair. 
Animist joins forces with Chubz & Nukem to close the release with ‘You Found Me.’ A polished and positive slice of modern house.

This October will see Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse imprint offer up an eleven-track compilation in the shape of ‘Madhouse Amsterdam 2015’.

The Madhouse imprint was launched in 1992 by Kerri Chandler and since its inception has been a driving force in the world of underground house having released material from the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Roy Ayers, Tony Lionni and of course the label-founder himself. Here we see the label, two decades deep, continue its momentum with more hard-hitting house cuts.

Across the eleven tracks we hear the New Jersey house aficionado deliver a slew of exciting new talent via his long running imprint, with established contemporary house producer Washerman delivering fresh original material. Plus a string of newcomers such as W&O Tracks Rhythm Operator
teaming up with Blueshift for ‘Perculating Nights’, Amsterdam’s Ghetto Chords with ‘Preacher Boy’, Greek producer Sek who delivers the rough and ready ‘Hide & Kiss’ and London’s Jason Lee Ward’ with ‘Lost In The Crowd’ plus many more.

The ‘Madhouse Amsterdam 2015’ compilation is out on Madhouse Records 9th October 2015.

When Oliver had completed his debut album ‘Another Day Another Dollar’ back in 2018, we were about to release it on Industry Standard, before the mighty Classic Music Company swooped in to sign it, and released it in spring 2019. During this time Oliver had commissioned a series of remixes from his homies, and now with Classic Music’s blessing we are able to release these remixes here on Industry Standard.

This is the second of 3 remix EP’s in the ‘Another Day Another Dollar Reconstructed’ series. Vol.1 saw Todd Edwards, Demarkus Lewis & Sinistarr, take the reigns. Now we have Christian Nielsen, JR From Dallas & Peter Croce stepping up to show us their takes on these tracks.

We set things off with our Play It Down label mate Christian Nielsen’s remix of the album opener ‘Sampling’ from Oli & Gene Farris. Christian takes a direct dancefloor approach jacking up what was originally a slo-mo spoken word mood setter. This is a charged up filtered house banger that has a nod to a DJ Sneak & Armand sound from back in the day. A solid approach for the material being remixed.

Next up we have JR from Dallas, who takes on remix duties of Oliver’s ‘Outer Drive’. The original album track was a more sedate 103bpm jazzy down tempo jam, but JR has come with his own vibe on a deep Chicago House tip. He’s beefed up the beats and has up tripping on his groove throughout his remix.  It’s one for late night heads.

Finally, we have Detroit’s Peter Croce delivering a signature low slung remix of the blue’s house track ‘The Delta’ from Oli’s collaborators Matthew K, and Daddy Hemingway. This remix takes a lovely groove driven approach that grows over the course of the track using Daddy’s vocals under a build of Peter’s own additional keys. Another wonderful remix in this evolving body of reconstructions.  Keep your ears pricked for Vol.3 coming in October.

Since the late 90's, Spiritchaser have remained consistent as one of dance music's leading partnerships. They have not only embraced the changing face of the music industry but also played a part in the shaping of modern house music with their unique style and combination of song and sound.

In 2005, their spiritual home Guess Records was launched and a new chapter was underway. Sister label to the successful Duffnote and One51 imprints, Guess provided a new platform for them to fine-tune their musical aspirations and the Spiritchaser sound. Their debut album "1440" introduced the beginnings of a collaboration with vocalist Emily Cook and Daniel Jones (Est8) which in 2011, took South Africa by storm with the smash hit "These Tears" topping the charts for 9 weeks and continued for some 38 weeks in the Media Guide top 10. This partnership further resulted in the album "Tears in the rain" which was released in South Africa in 2012. 

"Chronos" encapsulates the years passed and present and with a combination of some old favourites, exclusive new material, un-released mixes and re-edits giving the concept of a "best of" album a real twist. 

"It's been almost 14 years since we lay the first note down on our first project and what a journey it's been so far. The way we create and consume music has changed dramatically over the last few years and so to be here showcasing some of our chosen moments to date, is down to you guys and the industry that has provided the opportunities for us.
