The Rezday Special

Monosurround - Mushroomed [feat. VOiN]

The mad maestros of Maximalism have once again boarded their Outer Space Organ "OSO"* for a blast-off headed straight to the magnetosphere, on a one-way mission to give the soundtrack for the dancing lights across the  firmament. As the final installation taken from their album "Hello World", an extra-full tank of maximalism is injected into "Mushroomed", included on the EP with three brand-new remixes. 
Right after take off we experience Monosurround's rework, which smashes the outstanding vocal performance by the australian vocalist VOiN onto an highly energetic, epic instrumental of gigantomanic dimensions.
Just escaping the shockwave we arrive at the olymp of the Greek duo The Lifers. They refine the vocals with a pinch of chaos only to torpedo them with an almost rogue-electrified synthie-background and cosmic drums. Reaching the most outer section of the galaxy we meet Monosurround's old friends ProCon. The Canadiens wait on with a divinely wicked e-punk reincarnation, enriched with Countess Christsmasher's raving vocals and 80's style Space-Age melodies.

Monosurround mission control has cleared this puppy for lift-off and the countdown is running, so strap in, buckle up and prepare for some intergalactic audio combustion.

"Making its first appearance on Vitalic's boldly innovative platform Citizen Records in 2006, "Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock" represented a step forward for Ramtin & Erik towards a sound steeped in an aggressive sense of big-beat laden funk. 

On the eve of their forthcoming debut album Hello World, Monosurround inject new life into this hit, creating a package which bounds past its original incarnation in both musical scope and acoustic effect. While losing none of its underlying rebellious audacity, the "Summerized" mix imbues the song with a distinct symphonic disposition yielding a more thorough aural experience. Driven at its root by a fiercely assertive rock-tinged electro tenacity, a number of harmonic elements comes into play, giving at times the hint of a musical hybridization of the best of 1970s cop-drama themes and modern electro-pop. 

Also included in the release is the condensed Radio Edit, a Vocal Tool as well as the Club Edit of Summerized, which incorporates the hooks and dancefloor sensibility indispensable for any DJ wanting to provide a memorable moment. 

In successfully avoiding the simple, stale re-hashing of an old hit, Monosurround has created an entirely new beast that will breathe a bit of heat to the summer months, leaving everything in its wake washed in a cloud of steam."

Born out of a flash inspiration and musical necessity, the concept of Monosurround was first formed in 1999 in Berlin’s notorious Kreuzberg district from the restless minds of Ramtin Asadolahzadeh and Erik Schaeffer.

Monosurround wasted no time, immediately jumping into the fray with production on a pair of film soundtracks as well as a daring multi-piece live performance. They were driven by a desire to constantly re-define an ever-evolving and vibrant sound of modern electronic music. The following years saw Ramtin and Erik refine their sound and live performance, becoming a dynamic duo on stage, regularly providing the spark for dancefloors across the world with both their live sets and burgeoning DJ team. Unprecedented studio success paralleled their jet setting lifestyles, with the anthemic “I Warned You Baby” becoming a favorite of the summer of 2002, finding a home in both festivals and charts.

Further hits only reinforced Monosurround as being one of the up-and-coming providers of storming electronic club music and naughty electro-pop, with a flurry of releases on a remarkable list of labels such as Superstar Recordings, Moonbootique Records, Dream Beat, 1st Decade Records and most recently France’s leading Citizen Records (label of Vitalic). It is on this latest platform that the culmination of nearly 10 years of relentless and fanatical musical devotion gives birth to the long-awaited debut album from Monosurround, “Hello World”.
