About a year ago I started writing a really melodic track. I was layering my vocals and was really happy with where it was headed but I felt like I needed someone with better lyrical and vocal skills to step in and really make the most of it. I asked KINLEY to spend a couple days in my studio and Never Coming Home was the result. She absolutely killed it, and after submitting it to the 2016 CBC Search Light we shopped it around to some labels. We had a couple offers but in the end we decided to put it out ourselves. The idea is to express my own musical taste through a unique approach to house music. 

In the choruses there's been a great focus on the offbeat rhythm of the track, rather than emphasising the 4/4 kick too much. I've used acoustic textures to give a sense of familiarity & sincerity to my composition; lighters, exhalations, keys etc. - I'm trying to evoke a scene in your mind with the soundscape.

4Me is an experimental piece of mine which intends to bridge the gap between less melodic, dirty, dance music, and the more traditional approach, which is basically a few chords expressed in one way or another. BTW, that's my voice in the first beat section - who knew computers could sing, hey?
