Little Secret

Monsterpiece are a melodic trio hailing from Canberra. Starting out as a quartet known for their folk-infused funk jams, they have since downsized and adapted their sound accordingly. Monsterpiece now specialize in atmospheric, slow-burning tunes that skillfully build and release tension.

Brett Hiscocks has stepped out from the background, moving from bass to guitar and lead vocals. He plays smooth melodies reminiscent of John Frusciante’s work whilst singing with a vulnerable fragility.

Brett’s experience on bass helps him lock in with drummer James Macarthur effortlessly. The two have been playing together since they were fifteen and they harmonize over each track hauntingly as James drives the momentum.

Oskar Urbas is the latest member of Monsterpiece but just as crucial to their sound. Oskar plays swirling chords on the keyboard that saturate the audience and bass lines that sync with James to create a foundation.

Monsterpiece have found strength in simplifying their sound and crafting their own brand of slow psychedelic jams complete with chilling harmonies.
