My first idea for VAMPIRE GIRL was to take the profile photo of a woman including the lower half of her face, neck and chest. A single white fang would pierce out between her bloodied wet lips while snarling a subtle smile. With an emphasis on her ravenous mouth positioned at the top of the frame, her face above I'd crop away because to include it would only be an unnecessary distraction. I intended for blood to spill out from her ruby red lips all over her lily white cleavage held tightly in a low cut top while soaking up all the claret. The eroticism of vampire lust that we are familiar with from Victorian gothic literature and modern pop culture would bleed out from this glamour portraiture, all over the viewer’s hungry eyes. Again I intended to utilise the same three colours that look striking together used in ZOMBIE VOODOO: Red blood, White skin, Black hair and clothing.
I considered employing a model for this photo, not a professional of course, just someone we knew on the cheap. However because of my previous experiences with relying on people during past projects I didn't want to. I also wouldn't be comfortable staging this with someone who is not a professional model due to its subject matter. So in true DIY form I thought about modelling this buxom Russ Myer vamp myself. I knew I had the lips for it and with some duck tape could get a decent cleavage strapped up. I also spoke to Stu about him modelling for it to. If either of us was going to pass as a sexy vampire girl we would both have to shave. I refused to loose the beard and Stu was reluctant to shave his chest carpet, so that was that. 
My second idea was inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a close up photo of a fanged mouth. The red lips would be peeled back revealing angry gritted teeth and inner lip tattoos spelling out VAMPIRE GIRL - There's also inspiration here from Hellraiser's Chatterer Cenobite. 
Both ideas were too much like the 'in yer face' artwork for BEAT ME UP BABY and DADDY MADNESS, and I thought a little too vulgar for this song. I also really had had enough of creating tattoos on photos with Photoshop. This picture required something more haunting and romantic, so for the final piece I looked back to an idea that I had had before either of these.
Before I finish I must confess - while describing these two ideas I still haven't even sketched one of them, they only exist in my head...but I will, eventually...we hope. Although is there any point in doing so now that I have described both ideas in such lavish detail?
