A day late and a dollar short seems to be the rule of thumb. I selected the name Montag as my nom de son when I became aware that I was in a room filled with musicians who thought of themselves as intellectuals of sorts but they did not read anything. I thought of the idea that there would exist a time when people no longer read because to do so would be to admit that someone else might have had an idea worth consideration. Bradbury said of his book that it was not so much that the government declared books illegal but that people no longer wanted them because they made them unhappy. Imagine that.
