“Backyard” captivates you from the very first second: a throbbing bassline sets the tone, entangled by a melody that manages to sound both warm and analogue as well as inapproachably cool and sexy; that evokes memories of early eighties Hip-Hop and old computer games while embodying electro of the most progressive sort. Guest singer David Manning, like Monte from the Baalsaal / JEUDI Records camp, rounds up the whole affair by adding warm vocals about love in our emotionally cold times: “Stone cold love in the backyard“. 
“That statement reflects 90% of today’s generation”, assures Monte. “Everyone’s connected, postings here and selfies there, but there’s no real connection. Even when you sit at the same table with people, conversations are monosyllabic and everyone instantly pulls out their smartphone. It’s pretty much impossible to really get through to a person these days”, says Monte, musing: “We’re on the wrong track, moving apart instead of towards one another”.
Human relations in the age of social media – a topic otherwise researched in complex academic studies is delivered by Monte in a single, emotionally and atmospherically dense song.

‘Let Me Go’ by @dialoque-music, is named after the EP’s eponymous opening track; an imposing composition about relinquishing your grip on your dearest ones. After its inner struggles, it finally liberates itself musically and kicks off the last burden to break into a huge half-time ‘encore’. Vocalist Biba created the very foundation of this song by using just a loop-pedal and recording a stack of vocals and harmonies on each other. After some studio-sessions, the track took a twist and turned into a huge production. As a counterpart, the track ‘High of the Hallway’ gives you a high energetic up-tempo beat. The EP is complemented with hefty remixes by @mozesmeijer (My Baby, Isis & Mozes) and @philippwolf-music (DE), who take their own view on both tracks.

When a child builds his own drums using pots and pans and plays them almost every day, it’s a sure sign that music is the right path to set him on. Graduating as a Drummer and Composer/Arranger, Monte found his way at a very early age. 
Making music for the Demo Scene using Trackers where his first encounter with nowadays "vintage computers" providing him with all the sounds he needed to form his ideas into music. His passion brought him to Hamburg where he found himself producing/co-producing and mixing for a whole host of artists. 
Monte takes you back to the “Beverly Hills Cop” and “Miami Vice” aesthetic, but with a deep and solid funk groove lurking beneath. An absolute synth freak able to make any sound you could possibly think of almost in seconds on an array of devices, Monte also finds time to fill in as a professional drummer. 
Since 2008 Monte was drawn to the JEUDI Events at Hamburg’s BAALSAAL club, which eventually led him to become part of their first "JEUDI´s FRIENDS EP". 

With "TRUE" - a tune which triumphantly took the top spot #1 in the Beatport Deep House Charts – under his belt, and worldwide recognition rising fast, Monte is certainly one to keep on your radar.
