Tuxedo Junction - Cufflinks & Caviar (CLIP) ★★ OUT NOW ★★

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

My DJ alias is “Ef You”. I am a record collector and DJ since the early eighties. Starting with Adam and the Ants and related stuff I discovered die Malcom McLaren releases between Punk and Breakdance. After a long period of electronic dancefloor music with Disco, Funk, House and Techno a good friend of mine opened the door to the huge world of Jazz music. Today I combine all these styles in my organic and groovy vinyl sets and listening sessions. In my Basement Studios Lübeck I celebrate the music with my collection of thousands of records.

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format?

I love the 7” format because of the direct access to exactly one (two) songs. You have to think of: What shall I play next? Even a home listening session becomes a DJ set.

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

This set focusses breaks and beats, mostly funk related with some mashups and lots of originals in a funky, jazzy and crazy mood. I played some tunes of the “Wah Wah 45s Dubplate Bundle)”, I like their edits. The sets continues in a Latin style with a dubby-Downbeat-closing.
