‘Sleep Divide’ marks a change in musical approach from Montes Jura, contrary to the live, collaborative, jam session philosophy of ‘Tempest’. The track was almost entirely written in Sam Vallellanes’ makeshift home studio before the group collectively polished the rhythm section. ‘Sleep Divide’ is a dichotomy, entangled somewhere between jangly/energetic rhythms and dreamy/hypnotic melodies. It was created using a very organic approach and is loosely inspired by 60s pop, 90s shoegaze and 70s kraut.
