The wait is over, we are proud to unleash what is easily one of the most highly anticipated and talked about electronic albums of the year.

Jubei’s first L.P "To Have & Have Not" released on the seminal Metalheadz label shows exactly why Jubei is one of the most highly revered artists within the scene. "To Have & Have Not" delivers exactly what you would expect – the highest pinnacle of outstanding drum & bass / dubstep within its purest and most credible form. 

There is no compromise here, only undiluted content that stays true to the real art form and true to the craft. It's not music for faint hearted, or music aimed at infiltrating popular playlists, this is music for the those who truly appreciate the finest aspects of these incredible genres themselves and at every point "To Have & Have Not" from start to finish keeps it's roots set firmly in the music’s underground foundation. 

The album delivers with an unfaltering intent and truly demonstrates Jubei’s incredible versatility with tracks that traverse & transcend from one corner of the music to the next with an almost effortless and misleading ease. 

Each composition is within its own right a standout highlight. The track list includes a ridiculous amount of jaw-dropping collaborative talent. Credits for example see Jubei once again call on the vocal prowess of Flowdan for the LP’s massive follow up to past release "Say Nothing" entitled "The Moment". "State of the Art" flips the script at 170+ with SP:MC on vocal duties.  Further co production credits on the album bring Jubei together the forces of Goldie, D-Bridge & Youngsta just to name a few.

Albums like this don’t come along every day and whilst some artists now imitate with sights set firmly on commercial success only a select few can originate whilst continuing to cross boundaries so consistently.

The wait is over! Platinum Breakz 4 is here. Perhaps one of the most revered album series in drum & bass is back with a vengeance, and some are saying it maybe the best yet. This release is one of two samplers preceding the album.

This second track on sampler one is by Headz veteran Digital donning his dubstep hat. As you would expect with Digital he has taken it right back to the essence of dubstep as opposed to what it has become. Delay and reverb laden, Mini Cooper is sinister in its execution. It's a single light moving around a dark dancehall, typical Digital vibes on this, it's a welcome return to the label for Mr Carr.

This 2 of 2 sampler for Platinum Breakz is a dancefloor led affair for DJs and dancers alike, but after you begin unwrapping the layers there is altogether different beast at hand. 

First on the double A side we have the triumvirate of Glenn & Zula A.I and DRS with Warhorse - A very apt title for a very powerful, uncompromising and snarling stepper, DRS spits venom and gives way to a screwface-bassline that envelopes everything in its path. The very definition of war horse is well and truly on display here. As opener for PB4 it really sets the tone for the album - No bullsh*t - Headz2014.

Friends and sparring partners Jubei and Consequence deliver perhaps one of the most dark tracks on the album. When we say dark we don’t mean horror- this is menacing, it has a huge foreboding sense of doom and hysteria. The track really feels like it’s in a straight jacket being transported between cells.

Artificial Intelligence will be releasing their next album with Metalheadz and it’s their most accomplished work to date. A mature, confident long player that when listening you can’t help but feel is ‘potential achieved’ and a genuine pleasure to be releasing via the label.
The aesthetic of the album harks back to early AI material. It’s full of soul but has darker moments amongst its beauty. The palette of the project draws on classic era Jungle and goes as far back as Chicago house but in its entirety it’s much more than that; they are just some of the influences to be found on an expansive album that ticks many boxes.
Collaborations on the album come from SCAR and newcomer Dawn Wall whilst vocals are taken care of by DRS, Terri Walker, Steo and MC Sense.
Let’s leave label boss Goldie to have the final say on the album; ‘Artificial Intelligence have given us some great music in the past so naturally I’m really happy that we’ll be releasing their latest album, I’ve been a fan for a long time’

Blu Mar Ten 'Fall From Grace (feat. Kite)' (Technimatic remix)

Next weekend, we welcome the return of one of the leading duos in drum & bass as Spectrasoul play Room Two. They’ve been keeping busy since they last joined us, with last year’s killer 'How We Live' LP landing on their Ish Chat label. They’re now dropping remixes of album tracks 'Burst' and 'Say What' on a new EP featuring Calibre, so they sent over their glistening mix of 'Say What' for us to share. Speaking of how the remix came together, they told us:

“We'd always thought that 'Say What' would lend itself to a nice D&B remix, so when the vocalist Madi said that she had composed some nice piano chords, we got to work. The original vocal took on a completely new vibe once it was sitting on the new chords, so we stripped everything back and focussed on that late-night, sultry vibe and it just grew from there...”
