The Distance Between

Christiane Hommelsheim sings and plays on sound objects, Ralf Haarmann electronics and mandoline. With a central interest in loops, they create intertwined acoustic layers. Through the looper all sounds loose their corporality, they resolve within themselves, they appear and
disappear, they become soundfields, and soundshadows. Ocassionally a sentences might appear out of nowhere, and lingers unfinished in the space, like a piece of thought-furniture, that might develop within the ear of the listener before it retreats back out of focus. HAARMANNHOMMELSHEIM create poetics of absence, poetics of nothing.

This project is about different styles of music and pushing the edges to see where they go.

Nick Ray is an independent producer/singer/songwriter from New Orleans. His music career began as a lead singer in the local scene performing with numerous rock and alternative bands. Not wanting to be tied down to a single genre, Ray continues today as a solo, experimental artist writing and producing almost all of his songs as they genre hop between Pop, Soul, Alternative, Hip Hop, and EDM. Nick has also had the pleasure of collaborating with talented acts such as @neptunicamusic on "Mountains" and @djadaro on "I'm Alive". His soulful voice, along with his natural ability to write and produce exceptional tracks leave Ray poised for a promising musical future, as it’s safe to say he has only scratched the surface.

Wladimir Martínez (born on August 22, 1990, in Valparaíso, Chile) is an independent musician, composer, singer-songwriter, and poet. He holds a degree in Music from the University of Valparaíso and has developed a deeply personal body of work that blends emotional soundscapes with a stylistic exploration that moves between rock, classical music, ambient electronica, and sonic experimentation.

Influenced by a wide range of artists who have shaped his creative journey from different perspectives, some of the most significant in terms of composition and musicality include The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Steven Wilson, and David Bowie, whose melodies, structures, harmonic approaches, musical production, and conceptual aesthetics have been fundamental. On the sonic and experimental side, key influences include Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, all of whom are recognized for their work in crafting atmospheres and textures. His poetic and expressive dimension finds essential references in Nick Drake, Gustavo Cerati, Luis Alberto Spinetta, and the Chilean band La Ley, whose lyrics and sensibility have deeply influenced the way he connects words and sound.

He is currently also exploring the visual language through photography and digital drawing, as a natural extension of his creative universe. This multidisciplinary approach—exploring sounds, words, and images—reinforces his vision of art as something driven by emotion and perception.

Martínez has independently released his work through digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Tidal, TikTok, and Instagram, building a diverse and coherent discography that stands apart from commercial trends. His work speaks to those who see art as a vehicle for deep expression rather than a product. He continues to expand his catalog with new releases, maintaining an active poetic and visual output that complements his artistic identity and pushes the boundaries of his creativity.
