Revelation of Sound is pleased to present DJ, composer and label manager of Accents Records, Sub Accent. He works mainly with analog and modular instruments to create the unique sounds.
He borrows codes from conventional club music as well as elements from the
grammar of nature. His music traces shapes and textures that bring up both
physical and mechanical phenomenons : thus you can hear different aspects of a granitic strate, oscillations and triggers, even the echo of infinite spaces.
Dedicated to boldness in terms of rhythm and structures, his compositions
remind us the mythic journeys of Detroit pioneers, the tough manners of
Rotterdam electro or the experimental tradition of the Sheffield scene.
Besides his contributions to V/A compilations on finest labels like Concrete
Records, One Instrument, On Board music, Future Past, WhypeopleDance,
He also released EP’s LP’s on Cellar Door, Unheard, Secuencias Temporales,
Deflection, KVLTO Records…

The master, Dino Sabatini, visited us at the last Klub Collective in April. One of the performances we have enjoyed the most so far.

The Italian's elegance and master class made us dance non-stop with a powerful and hypnotic set without leaving the dancefloor.

This set was recorded at La Nature Festival somewhere in a forest in Belgium. This three hours set took place in the middle of the afternoon on June 22 during the summer solstice week-ender yet on a grey & moody day. Dive in!

For our 600th mix, a dream come true: Sven Väth. Which takes us back to Frankfurt, 1981. This is the year it all began for Sven Väth, a living legend who transcends time and trends. Currently amassing 43 years of career (at the age of 59), he embodies the pure and timeless essence of the art of DJing, defending and keeping vinyl culture alive and always reinforcing the importance of researching music beyond the obvious, because only then is it possible to tell different and exciting stories with each new performance that can last for 2 or even 12 hours.

600: Sven Väth

Occa  is a DJ and promoter from the northernmost region of Japan, Hokkaido. Occa has been organizing his own party ARCHIV at the sacred club, Precious Hall for over 10 years. Musically he combines the spiritualism of Psychedelic Music, the storytelling nature of House Music, the sci-fi dystopian feel of Detroit Techno and the trance of Minimal Music in a three-dimensional way through his deft mixing. He has been invited to play at institutions such as DJ NOBU's Future Terror, Mindgames' The Labyrinth/Balance, Spekki Webu's Mirror Zone 5 Years Tour in EU, System Revival and Georgia's legendary Bassiani.

This mix is inspired by his Sci-Fi Shamanism set recorded at the Transcendence 2024 ceremony, held deep in the forests of Japan. Expect an absolutely mind altering journey of pounding tribal drums, haunted drones and ethereal melodies delicately sprinkled throughout. Quite the trip if we say so ourselves.

Technology as the number one source of inspiration. Real time musical programming, unlimited improvisation and experimentation. Stretching the boundaries of electronic music.
Atom™ and Tobias. have been two key figures in the development of European ‘techno’ from the very beginning. Active since the 1980s, both artists have represented major cogs in the community. 1990 marks their first collaborative performance in Frankfurt, emerging as one of the first live shows ever played within this scene. From here the two started a journey of sonic explorations which led them to release the mighty “Elektroniikkaa” live recording from Helsinki and Montreux. Their subsequent releases are all derivatives of live performances, which consistently remain the number one focus.

Despite a spatial separation given by Atom’s relocation to Chile and Tobias’ to Berlin, upon reconnecting with the machines in 2003 creative flow surged spontaneously. Throughout the expressive tool of live performance, Atom™ and Tobias are able to create sound through an eccentrical deviation from all musical standards and a total adaptation to their environment.

This is the core of their improvisations: a total abandonment to each other's creativity, in which their consciousnesses merge and flow into the instruments in front of them.
Having both experienced three decades of music and some of the world’s most exceptional dance floors such as Berghain or Panorama Bar, their knowledge of the sonic realm is limitless. Their latest performances have reached clubs such as Kyiv’s Closer to Japan’s Labyrinth Festival in Japan.

OCCA hails from the snowy city of Sapporo, located in the northernmost region of Hokkaido, Japan. In addition to inviting renowned DJs like Peter Van Hoesen, DJ Nobu, Haruka, DJ Yazi, and IORI to perform at his Archiv parties at the legendary Sapporo club, Precious Hall, OCCA has established himself as a respected DJ in his own right.

OCCA has played at several notable events, including Future Terror and Gong, which were organized by DJ Nobu, as well as Exit the Labyrinth, Balance by Mindgames, and Dommune×Boiler Room. His performances aim to take the audience on a sonic journey, where he expertly blends existing techno tracks to craft new sounds and create futuristic techno-style elements.

Cio D’Or hardly requires an introduction, having long stood as both a pillar of our scene and a source of inspiration for so many. Over the course of her singular and decades-spanning career, the Cologne-based artist has cultivated a universe of sound entirely her own, immediately recognizable yet endlessly evolving much like the work of her contemporaries and collaborators Mike Parker and Donato Dozzy. To experience Cio’s music is to follow a throughline that traces the complex history of contemporary techno in a single gesture, compelled by the vast unknown and the primordial familiar in equal measure. Recalling the blurred realism of Richter’s photo-paintings or the timeless intricacy of Bach’s fugues, Cio’s self-contained sonic world delicately reframes our own precious lifecycle, a reflection revealed through its elegant and subtractive minimalism.

In collaboration with our friends at Mostra, I’m honored to share a selection from Cio D’Or’s set performed at this year’s edition of the Barcelona-based festival, a sublime triumph from a scholar of sound.

Starting his DJ career in New York, Junya Yamamura is now actively performing across various venues in Tokyo’s underground scene. Alongside sound engineer Ryosuke Tsuchiya, he also runs his own party series, lift. Known for his deep and refined style of techno infused with a fresh sensibility, Junya’s sets have earned recognition from Tokyo’s devoted underground clubbers, marking him as one of the new DJs leading the next generation.

Lotus Eater is a duo consisting of Luca Mortellaro (@lucy) and Seth Horvitz (@rrose1921), techno artists just as comfortable operating in the uncharted area of experimental music who have gained a cult following, both influencing and challenging the direction of contemporary electronic music.

Eschewing the typical instrumentation of techno but still inhabiting its archetypes, Lotus Eater uses synthesised sound and feedback as fundamental sources to generate both textural and percussive elements. A sense of tension and weight emerge from sources that cannot be easily pinpointed. Each release forms a complex narrative from a paradoxically simple and restrained set of sound sources.

Officially formed in 2017, Lotus Eater came to life through several collaborations over a number of years, and finally blossomed with the release of its critically acclaimed debut album "Desatura," which Lotus Eater toured live in 2018 - 2019.

2022 sees the release of the second Lotus Eater album "Plasma" and a new audiovisual live project to accompany it. "Plasma" unfolds with exacting precision by exhibiting a point of focus and expanding on it. It uses a single, throbbing pulse to generate a constellation of sounds and rhythms that form around it like a volcanic eruption in slow motion. Playing with our sense of time and weight, "Plasma" feels simultaneously slow and urgent, spacious and immense. Lotus Eater zooms into the infinite abyss and finds not just light, but fire at the end of the tunnel. Will we be saved, or will we burn?
