Always on the hunt for the perfect beat, the Dickjockey dives deep into his craft, building another wild and unpredictable set. But this time, something shifts. He breaks away from his usual sped-up, breakbeat electro-funk and transitions into four-to-the-floor Chicago slow jams, only to swing back to raw Detroit booty music. What’s going on in his head? 
Is this the consequence of four years of constant techno-brain-frying, or is it just the „Scheißmukke“-effect?
Either way, his sound refuses to be pinned down.

“The mix was recorded in Melbourne a few days after my experience at Diega, a beautiful outdoor festival, or bush "doof" as Australians call them. The mix is essentially resuming a day in a doof. It starts with slow/chill sounds in the morning, moving towards groovy afternoon euphoria, and finally ending more techno oriented for evening vibes. I want to dedicate this work to the people I spent time with during the last two months I've been touring, in Australia and Asia!”

Ahead of Amniote Editions’ 5 year anniversary night at Bassiani on the 6th of December (cancelled due to street protests) comes a very special mix from Munich’s finest, BASHKKA. Derived from the Turkish word for ‘different’ (she has roots there), the name reflects a no f*cks given approach to sound and culture that draws people toward her like moth to flame. From formative days in New York City where she started taking inspiration from its wealth of queer histories, she carved an insubordinate sound that’s crossed the Atlantic and set up shop in her native Germany, where her liberating tunes have found common cause with such venues as Blitz Club, Panorama Bar and Amsterdam’s Raum just a hop and a skip across the border. The aim is to reclaim spaces, assert the existence of marginalised groups (SWANA people like herself for one), amplify their narratives and create moments’ where ‘individual heartbeats merge into one motherbeat’. Further to those activist visions, her debut EP Maktub (2023) was a five-track banger and labour of love that synthesised Kurdish vocal samples with runaway beats. The reference to overlooked perspectives and elusive spark found at the intersection of culture and sound is the driving force, and something that’s felt in the gut when she plays. It’s a much needed energy in turbulent times, a reminder that you can save the world and have fun doing it. For Bassiani Podcast 242, BASHKKA brings her inimitable rhythms to the fore of the counter-cultural struggle: brazen and rave-ready, a two-hour trip to the future, slamming beats from a true icon.

 "Feeling a bit drained by winter and under the weather, I wanted to create something comforting, like that old plaid you love to wrap yourself in.
As a teenager, I used to listen to mixes in bed, dreaming of being in clubs while drifting off to sleep, caught in the loop. I tried to capture that feeling here. Hope you enjoy it !"

With Mostra Festival just over a week away, we’re wrapping up our editorial run with a conversation and a mix from Peter Van Hoesen. His work has always sat slightly outside the frame: techno, ambient, experimental, but never quite typical of any. Instead of chasing momentum, he’s built a practice around attention to sound, to context, and to the possibilities of performance.

At Mostra, he’ll step into a rare DJ role, playing a drum & bass set shaped by years of quietly following the genre’s more experimental edges. In this exchange with Griff and Zach, he reflects on what still draws him to that sound, how his relationship to playing out has shifted, and why intention matters more than ever. The mix he’s shared alongside the interview follows that same line — precise, considered, and wide open. A final entry before we gather next Thursday at Fabra i Coats in Barcelona.

"The site remains open. A heavy warmth hangs in the air, humming faintly through the layers. Beneath the familiar grain of stratum TD-6, something shifts - subtle, almost liquid. A trace of heat runs across the timeline, unsettling its order. The sediment stirs; a soft crimson flicker rises, then fades. Perhaps Triana, or something far more ancient. The "Estrato Aurora" evolves, unbroken. The rhythm deepens, folding in on itself. The digger no longer seeks - he listens."

Jaime Romero aka Estrato Aurora (@lovebas) is also the half of Pajaro Dune project (with David Ortolá). He has been an integral part of Valencia's underground music scene. Jaime as a Dj and producer has more than 2 decades in the studio working with analogic machines and a whole kind of stuff. He defines himself as an Atmospheric music worker. His line on the last years has leaded to publish on known labels such as: Alpenglühen, Bliq Rec, Appian Sounds, On Board, Dial Rec. Discos Pandémicos, HC Records or Danza Nativa.

This set was recorded during Pepa's birthday! We’re taking the opportunity here at HOC Radio to wish her a happy birthday. From here, these airs that appear throughout the set, Sevillian and Flamenco, also as a dedication to the entire region.

Recorded during the early hours of Sunday morning at Garage Noord at the Omen Wapta Weekender, this live set from Formant Value captures the essence of a weekend that transcended the club experience—where sound, space, and shared energy merged into something truly transformative.

Opening in slow motion, the set unfolds with a deep, psychedelic ambient current—echoes, pulses, and dub textures forming a wide sonic horizon. What follows is a steady, organic rise into tribal techno rhythms and hi-tech structures, maintaining a sense of spaciousness even at its most kinetic.

It’s a set that mirrors the architecture of the night itself: meditative, then elevating, then dissolving again. There are no sharp corners—just flow. Time felt suspended. Movement turned internal. And in the foggy warmth of the dancefloor, listeners were gently guided through a collective dreamspace.
