With this extreme sound statement titled ‘Facing The Absurd’, Nekyia and FossaDelRumore aimed to
express a common point of view on what we all call reality, probably a standpoint shaped by their life in the
magnificent yet creatively arid city of Firenze, while experimenting with sound as they have always been
doing during their long-lived collaboration. Let’s face the irrationality of things, the lack of meaning of an
alienating life, the limits of human condition; and let’s embrace this condition with a new inner quiet, shifting
the focus on the beauty around and within us, with perception as a source of inspiration and personal
improvement. The chase of a chimerical meaning keeps still making perfectly sense for us as transient
individuals. ‘Facing The Absurd’ is a dark collection of absurdist theories written through the meeting of
modular noise, post-industrial and bass music-infused techno explorations, with a multi-tempo
improvisational approach and subtle tributes to extreme music scenes.

Granular Spectrum releases a massive V/A charity compilation, from which the proceeds will be directed to communities in the department of Chocó in Colombia. The compilation features artists such as Laertes, Sam KDC, Saphileaum and ASC, whose track "Telemetry" is Monument's pick for the premiere. The release is out on December 10th.

Over the six distinctive tracks on Forbidden Islands, Madrid duo Uanamani defines their broad and multi-faceted vision of techno and ambient. The two genres become one in Derk & Iterbio’s hands. Propulsive rhythms surge forward, peak and disintegrate into plumes of heady fog. Our premiere for today, the closing track 'Over,' is made of dark ambient tones with drone undercurrents that create a visceral sense of isolation and self-reflection.

PREMIERE: Go Hiyama - Over [Diffuse Reality]

The EP commences with the climactic yet ethereal sounds that encapsulate the opening track titled ‘The Sun’, an aura of suspense that is accentuated yet further by the phantasmal and discordant sounds in the second track titled ‘Atonal’. The third track titled ‘Polymorph’ stands out due to its elusive overtones, whilst ‘Inner Nature’ is enshrouded in a mesmeric contrast of industrial and acidic sounds. ‘Lightyears’ embodies an anarchic amalgamation of cacophonous acidic drones, whilst the penultimate track titled ‘Nazare’ manifests a sonorous bassline. Concluding the EP with its disorienting undertone and commanding bassline is the final track titled ‘No Earth’.

Releasing music since 2009 as Sam KDC, British artist Samuel Wood has grown into one of electronic music's most passionate developers of the outer edge. In recent years, Sam has been an integral part of the Grey Area label and sound, a creative musical pathway that ties a musical bridge between 85 and 128 bpm with crafty polyrhythms. As further evidence of his versatility, his debut LP 'Late Night Innominate' Vol 1 (2015 - Auxiliary) was an entirely ambient long player which found favour across the electronic music world for its emotive power.

Omen Rising, Sam’s debut LP for Horo is also his first full length record to focus entirely on beat driven work. The album further incorporates the occult themes Sam has been using as pervading signifiers since his 2014 EP ‘The Order and the Entity’. Musically, Omen Rising sees the Grey Area sound re built into a hurtling fireball of energy stretching the constraints of what we know as Techno until the straps are blown off. 

Omen Rising is a confident showcase from an artist who has found a defining sound and is revelling in his ability to develop it entirely out on his own.
