MNMT Premiere: HOD - Opposite [Deflection Music]

Artefakt continues their collaboration with Semantica Records announcing their mini-LP ‘Floodplain’. The 6-tracker creates a sonic landscape out of mountainous rhythms, mutating synths and liquid bass patterns contrasted with timid feedback resonances and fluttering shimmery piano recordings against a backdrop of environmental sound. Monument premieres the track “Diorama” which will be released on the 7th of April.

In their second concept album, Kaf and MTRL embark on a mental journey, critically examining the fiction of space colonization and (astro-) resource mining. Through their album, they challenge the fallacies of human dominion over celestial bodies and prompt introspection into the ethical consequences of resource exploitation beyond earth. 

Their narrative urges us to reassess our relationship with the cosmos, embrace interconnectedness, and prioritize responsible stewardship. Kaf and MTRL‘s audacious exploration serves as a cautionary tale, calling for a paradigm shift towards sustainability, empathy, and reverence for the wonders of the universe.

This season, synonymous with life and renewal, is the perfect time to launch this new opus in the ACCENTVA series, a deliberately eclectic and inclusive review of current developments on the electronic music scene. With a more generous format than ever before, it makes room for both well-known label producers and pioneering artists whose work criss-crosses the world with their unique and immediately identifiable sound. Nearly thirty artists have responded to the invitation and are brought together here to give us a glimpse into the prism of contemporary musical creation. Nor are there any presupposed and therefore definitive barriers of genre or style, On the contrary, the contours here are intended to be voluntarily porous and slippery, each track being interconnected with another, or at least echoing what we might call the zeitgeist.
