Louisahhh

We have the pleasure of welcoming the New York-born, Paris-based songwriter, performer, and DJ to our milestone 250th episode of the series. Louisahhh is a well-established moniker in the scene, with releases on labels like Discos Atónicos and her own label RAAR co-founded with her creative partner Maelstrom in 2015 with the duo just releasing their first collaborative LP,' Sustained Resistance'. 
It has been lauded as “a very brutal, brave, and beautiful body of work” (Decoded Mag).  The two are presently preparing a live-hybrid tour in support of their album, so they hope to see you in the pit.

Tresor is proud to present the debut split 12" from Chloe Lula and Ireen Amnes. Meeting in the darker, harder-edged side of the Berlin techno scene in 2019, the pair have regularly collaborated and performed together, but Synergy marks the first time they've shared a record sleeve. Amnes describes Synergy as "the world we built while thinking about our journey as friends and the connection we share as people and artists," and while the record highlights their relationship and shared influences, it also showcases how each has grown into their respective lane. 

Amnes' tracks lean into significantly more distorted territory, characterized by a dense fog of grainy pads punctured by sharp, expertly-programmed percussion. On "Our Bodies," these fragments are sculpted into driving hardware gear, replete with distant vocals and acidic squelches, where "Fragments of Desire" makes space for a more somber attitude, descending into murky, psychedelic electro. 

In counterpoint to Amnes' deep atmospherics, Lula's contributions are driven by intricate sound design and a focus on dancefloor impact. Taking cues from Regis and the Birmingham techno sound, she reins in the distortion of 2021's Errant Bodies for aufnahme + wiedergabe in favor of rolling techno and breakbeat-inspired rhythms that nod to her EBM influences. Making use of the extra space, she builds tension through heaving, textured basslines and crescendos of noise, and on EP closer "Event Horizon," she carves through the beat with her own metallic vocals. 

Synergy includes a digital bonus track from each artist. Lula's sees her pushing deeper into finely-tooled techno territory, her drums at a swift, driving gallop, surrounded by ominous swaths of reverb. In contrast, Amnes crafts a gritty warehouse trip, sharpening the angles of her drums and detuning her synths until they sound bent and alien. Complete with the EP's physical cuts, these tracks are a testament to how the pair can simultaneously complement and contrast with each other, departing from their shared sonic origins and ending up in wildly different destinations.

Here comes BRVTAL's last release of 2023 and it's going to be a heavy one. Because one of our favorite producers, the legendary Ayarcana, teamed up with HATELOVE, the young talent from Warsaw.

This record will be Ayarcana's final release and as we have come to expect from him, there will be no mercy. Both of his tracks are a textbook example of his goodness as master of noise, industrial and heavy rattling, powerful techno. Absolut dance floor destruction!

However, HATELOVE is also long grown up for the job. He is one of the most outstanding producers of the new generation, no wonder SNTS noticed him and released his music on Sacred Court, but he was also recently featured on a compilation with 14anger and Draugr, and of course he is a recurring artist on BRVTAL too. 

BRV006 is also the debut of a new area of our label's life, because the artwork was made by our new partner in crime: void.vrks!

BRV006 - B1 - HATELOVE- Your Last Breath Belongs To Me

The second release of Dynamic Reflection’s Time Crystals series explores the deeper end of the musical spectrum somewhat. Function’s opening track delivers almost ten minutes of downtempo modulations before Viels’ Fragile kicks in: punchy, gritty and dancefloor-oriented.

  Dynamic Reflection head honchos and curators Abstract Division give a ‘less is more’ college with Convolution, keeping tension high at all times without ever dropping the kick for more than a couple of beats. The closing track sees Ben Buitendijk, Shoal and Vand collaborating under their DOM moniker for this special occasion, delivering a piece of trippy and stubborn techno.  

Liquid Solids is part of Dynamic Reflection’s 15 year anniversary celebration: Time Crystals. This is the second of five EP’s. Own all five and an all new, visual piece of art will appear.

Next guest is Efe Ce Ele, project of Feli Cabrera López. She is a Colombian musician, producer and transmedia artist, residing in Spain.
Her multifaceted work has made her travel in different scenarios, from electronic dance music to experimental music, transmedia arts and cultural management.
She is the founder and part of the management of the Latin American label / platform Fragment A.
Her work arises from experimentation and emotionality, with a cinematographic style without strictly defined genres, which oscillate between styles such as Techno, IDM, Electro and Ambient.

Celebrating a momentous decade of operation, Belgium's Token Records has rallied together some of its artists across the years that have helped curate the label's powerful sound for a nine-track compilation aptly titled 'Momentum (10 Years of Token)'.
The leading track comes from former ​Mixmag​ cover star and Berlin stalwart Rødhåd in collaboration with London-based Sigha. 'Bloom' is a statement all of its own, slow to blossom before rumbling into a booming demonstration of the command both producers have over their dance floors.
