Uncertainty, excitement, expectations and hope define pretty well what’s behind the launchment of a space mission. Everything has been calculated,  measured and prepared, but reality is always unpredictable, so results and success are never guaranteed. Experience and intuition may help in order to reach the desired planet’s orbit. Italian artist Alessandro Russo, known as Evod (@evodmusic), has used both to deliver Sonde Spaziali EP, the new release on Exoplanets’ 30D Sub label, a tribute to four different spatial projects that have taken place in the last decades from different parts of the world. 

Techno has been, almost since its inception, an excellent soundtrack for spatial exploration, as experimenting and having no boundaries in creation are key to start the trip. In Sonde Spaziali, Evod, fully aware of techno’s potential, recreates all the complex emotions kept into the challenge  of  reaching  space,  being able to bring us back to Earth to share and spread the discoveries, fully dance floor compatible. Next up is Argentina based DJ / Producer Volpe! He is an artist with more than 10 years of experience behind the booth. He is inspired by the sounds of the 90's and combines genres like Dub, Detroit, and Hypnotic techno in his sets. In the last ten years he has shared gigs with artists like Tadeo, Jonas Kopp, Seph and Andres Zacco. Whiole being an experienced DJ, his productions have been supported by none other than Ben Sims, Jeroen Search, Zenker Brothers, Slam, Laurent Garnier, Tripeo, Subradeon, John Hester and many more.

Hailing from her native Tilburg, Julie has been on the radar of local clubs for a while, earning herself a residency at Gin Fizz and Suburban Disco before her fast-paced, rolling, percussion-driven techno reached a wider audience. Playing piano from an early age, she has honed her ear for the melody and rhythm that are so evident in each of her sets today. The third Various Artists release on Codec Recordings is a strict blend of groovy, hypnotic, and effective techno.

Rising producer Daniel Rifaterra opens the V/A with Lantrua, a chilled out, atmospheric piece with a strong kick drum. With releases on labels such as Revolution and Truncate, he is definitely an artist to be on the watch for.

Serbian based David Mijatovic brings a high tempo, hypnotic loop and a relentless percussion workout to accompany it.

Next is Ekkor, an Estonia based artist who’s seen releases on labels such as Aesir and Smashead records. He delivers a driving and minimal, yet groovy tune.

Slono, who recently debuted his first EP, starts the second half strong with abstract, hypnotic loops and deep basslines. Hippocampal Functions is a force to be reckoned with!

Argentinian producers Stier and Juan Castillo team up to deliver A01, a percussive based track with many layers and textures. A highly effective tool for the dance floors!

Thomas Hostler, better known by his main alias “Space (GR)” showcases a computerized, hypnotic groove with many different elements blending into one another.

Unfit ends the compilation with Denebola, a heavily rhythmic tune layered with polymeters and ambience to create a mesmerizing soundscape.
