DJ firebrand Takaaki Itoh has come a long way since his early days of Detroit-influenced techno and parties in northern Japan. Without compromising anything in the way of quality his appeal has grown exponentially. Like a musical surgeon, his approach relies less on sweeping gestures and more on small millimetric cuts and tweaks that slowly ramp up the mood and leave the listener with sound that is at turns growling, mystical and amorphous. Adriana Lopez has established herself as one of the most influential techno artists of all time, making her a clear pioneer and key player in the Colombian techno scene.
Starting out in Bogota, where she cut her teeth holding down residencies at Club BarC, Cinema and La Sala whilst performing across her native country’s different cities, Adriana Lopez moved to Spain in 2003 where she quickly made a name for herself throughout Europe and beyond.
With years of experience behind her, Lopez’s deep understanding of techno is evident in her high quality and tasteful selections: mixing records with a technical finesse that has led to appearances at the likes of DGTL Festival (Barcelona, Madrid), Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia), Fabric (London), Berghain and Tresor (Berlin), Lux Fragil (Lisbon), Concrete (Paris), Radion (Amsterdam), Faust and Vurt (Seoul), Vent (Tokyo) and many more.
Meanwhile, as a producer Lopez has released several EPs, singles, and remixes on her own Grey Report as well as other labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts, Modularz, Semantica, PoleGroup, BPitch and Mistress Recordings, among others.
