Dj Red at Floresta - Waking Life '23

Recorded in the evening of the second day of the festival which takes place in the forests of the stunning Tenkawa mountains of Japan. Kasper effortlessly blends together deep, euphoric & rolling forest grooves for a 2 hour ride through the Japanese forest. 

Kasper Marott is a DJ, producer and label head from the small town Skee in Denmark. Kasper has been DJ’ing and producing since his teen years, with releases on labels like   Seilscheibenpfeiler, Kulør and his own Axces imprint.

OCCA has been organising ARCHIV for over 10 years at the sacred club,  Precious Hall in Sapporo, located in the northernmost region of Japan, Hokkaido. With his own party ARCHIV at the core, he has been expanding his scope of activities from all over Japan to the rest of the world.

As an entity of singularity, he aims to transform time/space/spirit into unknown realms by arranging multifaceted elements such as the spiritualism of Psychedelic Music, the storytelling nature of House Music, the sci-fi dystopian feel of Detroit Techno and the trance of Minimal Music in a three-dimensional way through his deft mixing. His rare presence has been recognised and he has been invited to play at DJ NOBU's Future Terror, Mindgames' The Labyrinth/Balance, and in recent years, has been invited to parties in Asia, Spekki Webu's Mirror Zone 5 Years Tour in EU, System Revival and Georgia's prestigious Bassiani, his circle of resonance continues to spread out.

[Les Chaos Ambiants]

The Pauza association presents Les Chaos Ambiants, a festival dedicated to the encounter between electronic music, the visual arts and the rich heritage of Burgundy-Franche-Comté.

This event is designed on a small scale to make it as comfortable as possible to listen, meet and move around, with a single stage to promote emerging and established artists, a natural setting conducive to the discovery of musical works and artistic installations, and an eco-responsible approach to limit its environmental impact.

The project has several objectives : to promote the European and international artistic scene, to stimulate and strengthen the cultural and creative network across the département and the region ; to help promote and showcase the natural and cultural heritage of Burgundy-Franche-Comté ; to support local produce and the local economy.

OCCA [Les Chaos Ambiants]

Founded by Laura BCR in 2014, On Board Music is a Rotterdam-based record label and booking, management, and events organization. The label is known for its high quality, genre defying releases from artists like: Jin Synth, Uanamani, plus some outstanding compilations featuring Polygonia, Crossing Avenue, Vera Logdanidi and many more. Keep your eyes out for the upcoming compilation coming out in February, which celebrates the 10 year milestone of On Board Music featuring music from Altinbas, Steffi, Paula Koski, and more.

For the label showcase Laura BCR weaves together a beautiful, warm and bright mix featuring some classics from the label and soon to be released tracks from the likes of Luigi Tozzi, GiGi FM, Efdemin, Psyk, Justine Perry, Dorisburg and more.

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.

 Welcome to the Transmissions mix series, featuring sets recorded at our parties at FOLD. 

For our opening mix, we’re delighted to share a recent Steam Room session with the Bangkok-based selector and producer Sunju Hargun. 

For two hours, he delivered a masterclass of immersive, deep and psychedelic techno. And true to style, the set is a seamless flow of intricate rhythms and subtly shifting textures, shadowy grooves and pulsating basslines.  

This mix was mastered in the Area52 Studio.

When OK EG enters Varden it’s 8:30PM on Sunday. It’s been a slow and steady build during the day, much slower than the day before, people have been given time to rest properly from a late night on Saturday. This is the journey. The ebb and flow of the forest. It’s their job to get the crowd going for the last couple of interval sprints. They are well rested and ready.

OK EG’s expansive sound is deep and diverse. Their compositions display a range that shifts between delicate, textural soundscapes, and spiralling, mesmerizing, mind-trip techno.

They first went to Monument festival in 2024, taking a break from a residency at EMS in Stockholm to spend a weekend in the forest. They brought a field recorder with them and spent time on the riverbank recording the sound of stones and water.

And listen to this level of dedication; while preparing for their live set in 2025, they used those recordings to write a closing track called Monument Stone. This is what they said about it. ”In the moment of performing it at the festival, we felt that everything came together. The crowd, the music and the site connected and it happened just as we’d imagined it.”

During their set day turns to dusk. We transition together, ready for the night - the sound, nature, forest and lights. Hand in hand.

Tales From The Loop is a new project about the world of electronic music with the intention of exploring the various genres that compose it and the various sub-genres deriving from them, through storytelling combining various forms of musical art, visual art and narrative in a long mysterious great journey.
