Clear as spring water, the memory of Shoal's beautiful live set echoing through the Norwegian mountains, finally sharing the stage together at Monument (@monument-podcast) after meeting in Amsterdam several years ago. Those familiar with our dear friends at Harmony Rec (@harmony-rec) will be undoubtedly familiar with Kenny's impeccable body of work, and for the rest an eye-opening treat awaits. Here, Kenny gathers highlights from his recent live sets and newly recorded material, arranged and refined into a perfect contemplation of the crisp arboreal air, a vivid composition of body and sound entwined tightly beneath the earth. “The mix was recorded in Melbourne a few days after my experience at Diega, a beautiful outdoor festival, or bush "doof" as Australians call them. The mix is essentially resuming a day in a doof. It starts with slow/chill sounds in the morning, moving towards groovy afternoon euphoria, and finally ending more techno oriented for evening vibes. I want to dedicate this work to the people I spent time with during the last two months I've been touring, in Australia and Asia!”

Severja is a multi-disciplinary artist, DJ and founder of the legendary Midgar records. Not only known for his exceptional label curation and genre-defying versatility behind the decks, he is also responsible for the incredible designs of Monument.

Then gravity takes hold, and the path becomes clear: a steady motion, guided by the cold glow of the moon. Shifting shadows, uncertain reflections, a descent into depth without losing direction. Echoes pulse with a deep rhythm, and textures unfold like whispers in the dark. The sound is hypnotic, atmospheric. It leads."

Moon Patrol is the musical project of Irina Kotik (@irina-kotik) and Gilles Wasserman (@gilleswasserman), co-founders of the Brooklyn-based platform Delayed (@itsdelayed). Their work has appeared on labels like Oslated, On Board Music, SoHaSo, Huinali, and others. Moon Patrol drifts between frequencies—half dream, half pulse. Shaped by shifting moods and shared silence, their sound moves from warm electronica and lush ambient to shadowy techno and back again.

For this edition of the SKIN podcast, we're sharing a recording of Amnis' opening set from SKIN x Profundo at 8SixA. It’s a warm, atmospheric journey through deep and dub techno.

Amnis’s music is characterized by deep techno elements, with atmospheric sounds. “Deep kicks and bass lines with enough power to move you, subtle percussive elements to keep the rhythm going, and longer atmospheric soundscapes that create the overarching vibe. I usually incorporate dub techno sounds as well, because it’s a genre that also encompasses very warm sounds, which I often look for in music.”

The podcast mix, recorded live during his opening set at 8SixA, was designed with a specific journey in mind. “It’s a small and cozy club, which is perfect for a slower, more in-depth approach,” he says. “I wanted to start more mental than physical, with a deep and careful build-up. There were still hours of dancing ahead, so I wanted to build the energy in small steps without rushing. I think it’s a nice reflection of my vision for a chiller deep techno set.”

For Amnis, there is no substitute for the club, and real-life experiences with music are the most inspiring. “Nothing is more powerful to me than seeing or hearing DJs and artists live,” he says. “To experience how music moves people and hits your mind is the most powerful thing.” This connection to the physical energy of sound is essential, and it’s reflected in how he constructs sets. In addition to digging deep for music, running his own label [Profundo] and staying in touch with fellow producers offers a steady stream of fresh, exciting tracks to explore.

Throughout the set, he uses variation in rhythm and texture to mark shifts in mood or chapters within the mix, keeping the whole journey interesting.

Informa Records boss Deepbass showcases the rolling, thunderous techno soundscapes he is known for world over in this week's edition of Global Vibe Radio.

Whether doused in the grit of his hometown Glasgow, or expanded by the widescreen vistas of his current base, Barcelona, the music of Darren Roberts has asserted its uniqueness within his preferred form of expression, rolling and tunneling techno, strong on propulsion and atmosphere. Naming the project Deepbass was a strong statement of intent and commitment to a sound of his own, from the start. That he has in fact established it and remains on a path of constant perfection of it, is indicative of Darren's personality and talent.

This consistent path has seen Deepbass put out records on labels such as Edit Select Records, Aconito Records, Dynamic Reflection and Soma, all the while enjoying a steady rise in recognition both with audience and peers. Along the way, he found in Italian producer Andrea Deplano, most widely known as Ness, a perfect foil for his vision of techno, with both collaborating on releases which displayed uncanny compatibility in sound between them. This commitment to the deeper, hypnotic side of techno is further proved by his own label, Informa Records, where releases by names like Reggy Van Oers, nAX_Acid, Claudio PRC, Takaaki Itoh, Ness, NX1, Hironori Takahashi are constant highlights for those who crave expansive and engrossing soundscapes.

What stands out from his production and performances is that Deepbass creates something identifiably his own, but refuses to ever be limited by it or to get comfortable repeating just one thing. Instead, he takes what´s already his own and streamlines it, sharpens it and nuances it. The origin and destination might be constant, but the path it takes and how the journey feels is ever-changing.
