Biography
After a deep exploration of several kinds of electronic dance music, in a broad evolutionary path, Giorgio Gigli's music has assumed an intense and personal form of communication. The modules emerging from his compositions run across a process where moods are transformed into waves, layers and substrates that are ready to catch and overwhelm the listener, without changing original content.

His skill is to transmit an accurate signal using undiscovered frequencies inspired by desolate and noir tinged landscapes. Giorgio transforms his material. Voids, pitfalls, drones and dilated melodies become intricate, sophisticated and hypnotic rhythmic equipment that runs the risk of constantly changing classicist techno aesthetics in a conceptual derivation close to his soul.

Giorgio loves ambient music that dues to its descriptive power allows him to analyze and render every vibration and vision, both during production and his long dj sets, where he explores empty rooms that are filled with vintage recordings, ethereal drones and field sonority. This particular working method is also reflected in his harder sets, where rhythm increases tension while it is moving forward unchallenged through industrial echoes, robotic tricks and building grooves that produce shaped variations of his meaning. Substance thickens to provide a thoughtful and reflexive listening experience.

All these elements are poured into his project "Zooloft Records", the platform that represents him in a past few years. Now his techno vision involved into new collaborative projects with Speedy J's "Electric Deluxe" and "Perc" ("Endless" project). Starting from 2011 the collaboration with Electric Deluxe has established an intense relationship ferrying his DJ set in a new dimension where it combines an industrial/dark approach with a solid stream techno club-oriented.

Ahead of his appearance for On the 5th Day this coming weekend, we're delighted to bring you an exclusive interview and podcast (DJ set) from Poland's much cherished Michal Jablonski.

You've most likely noticed that Jablonski has been making some powerful waves on both the Polish and international techno scenes of late; waves formed of relentless energy, personality, punch and fearlessness - a pretty effective combo if you ask us! As an artist who has until recently focused on live performances mostly formed of entirely original productions, we’re super excited to hear how he jells together a hybrid set, ensuring the Jablonski flair the techno world is coming to love so much is woven throughout, ready to engulf room two revellers and take them on a mighty ride.​ Word on the street is that he has something pretty special in store for us!

What Michal conveys in his sets is also communicated through a library of serious, no messing about productions which we definitely recommend exploring, often with an industrial twist and heftier, mean underlying backbone which we've definitely found ourselves hooked on (released on the likes of New Rhythmic Records, Circular Limited and Sonntag Morgan, amongst others).

As if being inspired by Michal’s musical prowess wasn’t enough, getting to know artists like him is another one of the beautiful perks of what we do and so it gives us huge pleasure to be welcoming him and sharing this podcast and interview with you. This personal, heartfelt insight into Jablonski's world and the music he loves so much is the perfect stimulation for the body and mind and his recorded DJ set will no doubt leave you gagging for the weekend and what's in store for us.

Bio: Vicky Zissou favours the deeper and rythmic side of techno, that is stimulating the mind + body and catching the soul. Hypnotical, tribalistic and emotional sounds are key in her organic crafted sets. The accents are floating between dubby, swirling, acid and raw industrial sounds.

Originally from Berlin, Vicky Zissou has now become an essential part of the Swedish techno scene. Since her dj debut 3 years ago she has been frequently playing at Stockholms top venues and underground clubs and shared the stage with influential artists like Abdulla Rashim, Dorisburg, Evigt Mörker, Insolate, Nima Khak, The Persuader, Joel Mull, Mirella Kroes, Fjäder, Ed Davenport/Inland, Juho Kusti, Oliver Huntemann, Barac, Ellen Alien a.m.

When Lego just turned 16 the Swedish duo 'The Knife' released their album 'Deep Cuts' with the track 'Pass this on' which enchanted her and brought her into the world of electronic music. Ever since she has explored the techno scene both in Sweden and worldwide, which inspired her to start doing underground raves such as Stockholm based 'Funny Bunny' and .WAV, and also later on club nights at clubs in Stockholm like 2.35:1, Södra Teatern and Slakthuset. In 2012 the will of spreading her own favorite tunes lead her into the DJ-booth. Her driving, trippy and hypnotic sets has since then taking her to festivals like Exit in Serbia and Volt in Uppsala, as well as clubs like Tresor in Berlin, Wave Athens and Pratersauna in Vienna. Lego is also one of the captains on the techno ship Parabel, handling bookings as well as being a part of the label.
