Following releases on Marco Faraone’s UNCAGE, Coyu’s Suara, and Kaiserdisco’s KD RAW, Poland’s Klaudia Gawlas prepares her first release for Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD, a monstrous techno doubleheader built for big dancefloor moments.
Mammoth kicks take charge on lead track ‘Amor’, with breathless vocals darting between evolving sections of subdued synthesis, making for a clinical club weapon. On the flip, the sweeping synths of ‘Cupidus’ drift below sizzling drums and warehouse-filling stabs as an unmistakable 4/4 pattern storms throughout.

An unabashed dark drama workout originally released in 2014, the cheekily-titled 'See You Next Tuesday' is considered a classic by many and still elevates floors to insane highs to this day. As will these remixes…

Commissioned to highlight the label's milestone release, MOOD have pulled out every single stop possible with some of the most exciting and innovative names of all time and every shade of the techno palette is splashed across this epic eight track trove. The one and only Danny Tenaglia takes us back to Twilo with his hip-swinging bassline and hypnotic prowess; the unstoppable tech house duo Solardo get twisted with just the right levels of jack attack; Truncate fixes our focus on the visceral physical techno energy; Trunkline get carnal with a tribal rawness; Black Asteroid super-charge the groove with a palpable electric sizzle; Raxon flips the groove into a driven, warm techno roller that doesn't quit from here till next Tuesday.

Batten down the hatches: MOOD deliver the debut collaboration from two exceptional rising French techno acts - Camille Luciani & duo In Anima - and the whole EP pays homage to mother nature's most formidable forces.

'Maelstrom' takes the lead. Every bit the sonic whirlpool its name suggests, it sucks you right into its vortex with its rising arpeggios, vast sense of scale and momentum and crisp, breath-taking production. 'Huracan' maintains the natural drama. Like any storm it whips up subtly before cloaking you in heavy gusts as gale force organs and pads blast your senses and a rolling beat shifts anything that's not tied down.

Black Peters brings this perfect storm to end with his remix of 'Maelstrom'. Extending the track by two minutes and rearranging the dynamic, the whirlpool becomes inversed. Rather than sucking you right in, it hurls you right out. Ready to start all over again. Bon voyage.
