A tune that my big brother wrote and sang. As we did back in the old days when we had our band "Teebah" , He came over to my studio and I did the arrangement, played the drum,keyboard and bass tracks, recorded the back vocals and did the mixing too. We had fun just like the old days. :)

I had fun cooking dinner while  recording my voice on my traveling micro studio ( 15" Laptop ) in my Kitchen and dining room space at home.
Using a 16 years old sennheiser MKH 80 microphone that has been my loyal friend throughout my most enjoyed recordings. I recorded a few singing stars with it.

In winter 1986,my dear Friend and third mentor, the dearly departed "Kamel El-Sherif"  woke me up at 3 AM and asked me join him at Empire Studio  to play drums in his composition and arrangement " Habaitek Ana" .
I had a wonderful time performing that track for a dear friend, brilliant colleague and third mentor, and of course a brilliant musician. 
Two weeks ago, I found a cassette tape of that session with Kamel's very sweet keyboard tracks and my drums track. The session did not have the melody which I remember accurately. So, I decided to honor Kamel's memory by adding the Oud, Kanoon, Nay and Lead guitar all singing the melody and post this piece, remembering good old times.

I called this composition "Cold Cases" , because I wrote it while contemplating the emotions and thoughts that storm in the heart and mind of an investigator who works for his country's secret service while trying to solve mysteries and learn the truth about one or more unsolved cases.

My own impartial thoughts and emotions about a seemingly never ending conflict between two people. They both need to achieve peace and prosperity. And so does the world. My prayer will always be for all wars to end. And for all man kind to know everlasting peace and harmony.

This Song is one of Sir Elton Johns great hits. I sing it as a tribute to Sir Elton. It ALways reminds me of my friend the Late wonderful entertainer and Composer Kamelle El Shereef. Kamelle Sang thins Song Every night in Salt and Pepper Zamaelk In the 1970's.

Afetr finishing this recording as a sweet way to exercise my singing and awaken my lazy voice, I found that my Egyptian accent shows in a way that gave the recording a unique taste. The session was fun. :)
