Volume 35 comes to us from far away to the east. Shuya Okino offers up 2 hours of club jazz and crossover music.

He is the founding member of KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE who released their first album in 1994. KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE made history as the only Japanese artists ever to have a single at No.1 on the BBC Radio ZUBB chart for 3 consecutive weeks with 'Eclipse' which was on their second album ’Spirit of the Sun’ 2002.  These albums made KJM one of the most influential groups in the crossover scene worldwide and Shuya has performed in over 40 countries and 140 cities. 

Shuya Okino is also the producer of The Room club, Shibuya, one of the most vital venues worldwide in supporting Club Jazz/Crossover music.

The French artist, DJ and producer has a strong connection with the Japanese scene and developed his passion for beat-making from an early age - wielding his trusty SP1200 sampler to make a name for himself creating hip hop beats. As he honed his skill and explored a wide spectrum of sounds and styles he piqued the interests of venerated artists like Satoshi Tomiie, Rick Wade and Karizma - who took him on to remix their tracks. Meanwhile his own material saw releases on @MCDE-Recordings, @MonaMusique, Balance Recordings, and together with NY legend DJ Spinna put out a pair of EPs on NDATL Muzik.

Weaving together various forms of dance music he holds dear Hugo LX architected a lofty and energetic mix full of high-caliber funk, soul, disco, and jazz-infused house rhythms. The perfect thing to boogie to on a hot summer day.
