As we move into 2025, LHM begin a run of stunning guest mixes from some of the disco and house heads we have followed and admire, whether over the years or those coming through turning our heads.

We couldn't ask for a better start with none other than Marcel Vogel. As a selector and DJ, his dancefloor shaking prowess is something we have witnessed on numeral occasions and through his productions, remixes and edits, as well as his wonky disco label Lumberjacks in Hell, we have also used his wares on many of our dancefloors.

Marcel kindly took the time to speak to us to discuss his label and its forthcoming release from Lyma plus a host of other chat on his gigs, family, music and more and you can check out the interview via the link below.

 I started this mix at around 4 am, after coming home from a gig. I'd been thinking a lot about a new project that I'm working on, "Balaphonic", and about some of the records and producers that have inspired me over the last couple of years in this respect. I had no agenda or plans, other than to re-visit some well loved tracks for inspiration. By chance the mixer was hooked up to my pc so I pressed record anyway and this is just how I laid it down... The playing IS very "late night" in places, but I was honestly having a ball and loving the tunes so hopefully that compensates for any mixdemeanours(!). I'm indeed honoured that my good friend and longtime supporter Lars Behrenroth has been kind enough to feature the first hour of it on his Deeper Shades of House show. For me it's a real institution and I feel truly blessed to represent!
