The ever-ascending Josh Butler has without doubt found his groove and Defected are very pleased to welcome him back to the label with this textbook house bubbler with commanding vocals courtesy of Boswell. The original version of Paul Johnson’s anthem ‘Get Get Down’ was first released in October 1999 as a single from the album, The Groove I Have. The cut topped the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play chart, peaking for 1 week. Outside the United States the song posed within the top ten of the charts in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Here at Moody Recordings we’re proud to be the initial imprint that brought Paul’s masterpiece to the world and this summer, almost 20 years later, we’re just as honored to host several modern interpretations of his work. The 2018 remixes materialize in this 2 part series from some of house music’s newer talent and respected legends alike.

Derrick Da House lands on Pogo House for release 165 and drops 3 tracks for the N.Y. Vibes EP.
First up Derrick Da House serves up 'N.Y. Vibes' consisting of slamming kicks that chug along littered with chops and garage stabs. It's a big bouncy affair that also contains the infamous 'wooo, yeah' rap sample before a vocal break down that whips up a frenzy with a big dirty drop. 

'Listen To This Sound' is the second track on this package and Derrick Da House takes us on a Latin house tip with a deep rhumba rhythm. Packed smooth drums, bongo's, a warm bassline, subtle piano keys and a seductive Spanish vocal on top that really melts into the track well.

Astre picks up the listen to this sound remix for the final track on this ep. Its deeper take on listen to this sound whilst maintaining those lovely aforementioned vocals with suspended strings throughout that give a nice dreamy feel to the track. Overall an ep that has something for everyone whether your flavour is house, garage house, Latin house or deep house.
